Exhibition Sneak Preview
At the Lister News Team, we love the chance to get behind the scenes or have the opportunity for a sneak preview. This week we wanted to share with you our good fortune. Here you can see the diverse creative ways that GCSE students have experimented with similar themes in Art Textiles, Art and Photography - these images all feature images of women presented in very different ways. Students have responded to a range of themes such as Distortions, Places and Spaces, Portraits and Close up and the outcomes are brilliantly diverse.
Join us on Friday 24th May to see more stunning artworks - drop in anytime from 15:15 - 18:00, at Lister Community School in the Assembly Hall.

Lister's Cake Sale Success!
Dear Parents and Guardians, We are thrilled to share the exciting news of the resounding success of our recent charity fundraising cake sale! Last week, our dedicated students put on their aprons, rolled up their sleeves, and baked delicious cupcakes to raise funds for a cause close to our hearts, the National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS). Thanks to the incredible efforts of our students and the overwhelming support of our school community, we are delighted to announce that we raised a remarkable £102 for the NDCS! This achievement truly highlights the compassion, generosity, and community spirit that defines our school. The event was not only an opportunity to indulge in scrumptious treats but also a meaningful way for our students to make a positive impact on the lives of deaf children and their families. By coming together and embracing the spirit of giving, our school community has demonstrated its commitment to making a difference in the world. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this event. Whether you baked, bought cupcakes, or simply spread the word, your support played a crucial role in helping us surpass our fundraising goal. The funds raised will go directly towards supporting the vital work of the NDCS, including providing essential services, resources, and advocacy for deaf children and their families across the UK. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who rely on the NDCS for support and guidance. Once again, thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of our charity fundraising cake sale. Your support has made a meaningful difference, and together, we have shown that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a significant impact. Warm regards,

Pastoral Curriculum - what we are doing in form time
At school this week, students are discussing Mental Health Week and this year's theme: Movement.
Students are learning through assemblies and tutor time about the importance of looking after their mental health, top tips for how to do so, and making a pledge about how they can improve their mental health with a specific focus on this year's theme 'Movement'. Please continue to check in with your child and speak to them about their mental health, encouraging them to take part in actions that are going to help improve this!
Lister's Website - The Latest News
Here at the Lister News Team, we are not the type to blow our own trumpets. We like to work in the background, highlighting the awesome work of our students and teachers, without ever stepping into the spotlight ourselves. Please keep this in mind when following the link below to the archive of all of our previous newsletters. It is not intended to glamorise the work of the modest Lister News Team, rather we are showing you this part of the Lister Website so that you can refer back to any previous additions of the Lister News Letter that caught your interest, without having to trawl through pages of emails.
