Author Visit
We are fortunate to have Bruce Arndt visit Seedling Mile on January 30th to talk to our students about the writing and illustration process for writing a children's book. He's going to talk to the K-2 students about how to sequence a story and the 3-5 grade students about the writer's workshop process. Then he's going to spend another 50 minutes talking to the whole school about drawing and illustrations. It'll be a great day together. He is also offering to sell books to our families and autograph them for you. These forms will go home on Monday January 20th. If you want a book purchased/signed you'll need to return the form with payment by January 29th. See info below.
Recess in the Winter
Winter is HERE! Please make sure students have appropriate clothing to go outside for recess.
**Please note below that we are now allowing kids to bring snow boots to play in the snow. If you have questions please contact Mrs. Wemhoff.
At Home BOOST!
Are you looking for a way to keep your kid busy and engaged on these cold days? Our students utilize a reading program at school called Boost that they can access at home too! This program adjusts to student needs and helps them build needed literacy skills. Allowing your students to be on Boost for 20-30 minutes a weekend may be beneficial to them!
Your student can access Clever at home by going to Clever to login with their student's credentials. If your student doesn't know their login please reach out to their teacher with questions.
Also please note that parents shouldn't help the students with the Boost learning games. If students are struggling, the activity will adapt and help the students. It will alter the program if they are getting lots of support and later make it too hard for students later on. This is truly meant to be independent practice at the level they need.
More information for families about Boost below...
Emergency Contacts
Parents can now add/update emergency contacts for their children in ParentVUE. The .pdf attached below will give you step by step directions to do so. I would encourage you to check and make sure all of your information is accurate in case of an emergency we are contacting the correct people at the correct number. Thank you!
