Hard Working High School Students Getting a Leg Up πͺ
Last month, a ceremony was held at the high school recognizing some hard working juniors and seniors. These students were the first ones to be a part of the Registered Youth Apprenticeship Program, or RYA. By maintaining a 2.5 GPA, and regularly attending school the students were able to work in their chosen field gaining experience while getting paid. Thank you Aetos Center for the Performing Arts and other local businesses for your support!

Liz Henderson is our Junior High Artist of the Week
π΅ Liz Henderson is our Junior High Artist of the Week, proudly sponsored by Lucid TLC Arts! π©βπ¨
"Liz is an exceptional young artist. We have not created a project this year that she has not taken to a level beyond her peers. Liz has a vision for each project and dedicates her time and effort until she achieves her goal. I am thankful to have her in class this year and excited to see her art and ability continue to develop as she grows and learns!" - Olivia Falkenstien Nixa Junior High art teacher π¨
"Art inspires me by providing a unique outlet for expressing interests and connecting with other artists. My journey began with my mom, who taught a small art class at my school in Los Angeles. I remember her leading me to the cafeteria to prepare for the upcoming project. The most magical part was seeing the diverse student art projects, each showcasing unique creativity. I believe that by challenging ourselves, we create pieces that truly reflect our essence." - Liz Henderson πΌοΈ

Nixa High School
Julie Hambyβs Algebra 1 class recently engaged in a jigsaw activity at Nixa High School. Students researched given topics about writing and graphing various forms of linear equations and their key features, then taught their peers through this rotating partners activity. They learned a lot about researching the topics and picking out important information and the value of effective communication, such as listening closely, speaking clearly, writing legibly so others can read their work, and paying attention to what others are communicating. π§©
