Greetings, and Happy Spring!
We hope that this Spring season brings lightness, ease, joy, and hope to you and your families.

School Holiday April 1, 2024
Carver School and all SFUSD schools will be closed on Monday, April 1, 2024 in honor of Cesar Chavez Day.
School will begin again on Tuesday, April 2 at 8:30 am.
Annual Spring Egg Hunt (Beacon x Carver x City Life Church)
Springboard Summer Reading Program (@Malcolm X Academy)
Carver students who participate in Springboard and are also enrolled in Beacon will be dropped off at Carver every afternoon by the Beacon vehicle.
We encourage our students to take advantage of this awesome opportunity! Students report feeling stronger as readers, and families report feeling better equipped to help their reader at home. There is a family workshop component that will give you the tools to continue the learning outside of school.
Please scan the QR code below to register. Once seats are filled in a particular grade level, we will begin a waiting list. We hope to have any waitlists cleared before the first day of the session.
Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC)
We are approaching our spring testing season at Carver school!
Students in grades 3-5 will participate in the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) that will assess performance in English Language Arts (ELA), Math, and Science (in grade 5, only).
Testing dates are: April 22 - May 3. Please help us achieve perfect attendance during that week.
Testing details will be sent home shortly.
Resource Alignment Initiative (RAI)
As you know, SFUSD is working to better align its resources to the needs of the students in our ever-changing city. The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Matt Wayne, will tour sections of the city to speak about the plan to ensure that we are financially responsible as a district while also serving high quality academic programming to each and every student.
Specifically, this discussion will be centered around school closures, mergers, and co-locations.
You are invited to a town hall event this Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Willie L. Brown Middle School (2055 Silver Ave, SF) from 1:00-2:30 pm. The event is open to the public and in-person.
You will hear directly from the San Francisco Superintendent of Schools, followed by an opportunity to ask questions and gain clarity.
Please see the video below for more information about the Superintendent's Resource Alignment Initiative.
Your Opinion Matters (School closures, mergers, and co-location)
Please take some time to participate in the following survey about the district's Resource Alignment Initiative. Your thoughts, feelings, experiences, and perspectives matter, and we want to capture your voice as part of the decision making process.
