Principal's perspective
Happy New Year Mountain Vista Families!
We hope that you had a restful break and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. We are excited for all that 2025 will bring to our Mountain Vista Rams.
As we enter the new year, we want to recognize Dr. Nicole Paxton for being named the Colorado Middle Level Assistant Principal of the Year! Thank you, Dr. Paxton for all that you do to move our students forward!
As we return and begin the 3rd quarter of the school year, we plan to hit the ground running! With half of the school year completed, we are committed to ensuring that each minute of each school day is maximized. With every day missed, or every day of late arrival equates to minutes or even hours of instructional time lost. If your child is late 10 minutes, twice a week, this equates to 80 minutes a month, 720 minutes during the school year! Our staff prides themselves on bell-to-bell instruction, meaning that students are engaged in instruction from the minute the bell rings in the morning, to when the bell rings to go home. Please continue to support in getting your child(ren) to school on time every day. If your child will be out, be sure to input the absence into the following link to get them excused, https://tinyurl.com/AttendanceMVCS
Do you have uniform clothing that your child no longer fits? Drop them off in our front office! We can always use extra uniform pieces!
Thank you for your continued support and thank you for choosing Mountain Vista! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to a member of our team with any questions or concerns! Go Rams!
Proud to be a Ram,
Dr. Angela Valdez, Principal
¡Vamos Rams!
Orgulloso de ser un Ram,
Dra. Ángela Valdez, Directora

STEM
On a sunny Friday afternoon, students at Mountain Vista Community School had an amazing experience as they launched alpha 2 rockets designed to soar into the sky. The excitement was contagious, with cheers of “whooaa” echoing each time a rocket took flight!
In preparation for this thrilling event, Middle School students delved into the fascinating history and technology of rocketry. They also had the chance to build and design their own rockets, guided by our dedicated teachers and teacher aides.
This incredible day was filled with hands-on learning, blending science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) with creative rocket building, and launching. "Rocket Day" was a fantastic way to engage Middle School students in STEAM concepts while having a blast!
Stay tuned for more exciting events at MVCS!
