Do you still need a class and are looking for a supportive instructor?
This fall semester Umoja is offering 2 Umoja Supported classes, Ethnic Studies A190, The Ethnic Family and History A162, World History 2. Taking classes with Umoja students and taught by Umoja faculty can be one of the greatest experiences where you are surrounded with a supportive community to learn, study, and attend class together.
Black Mental Health Porch Talk
The Umoja program thrives on student engagement and building community. Porch Talks are designed to provide students with a safe space for open discussion, courageous conversations, and reflections on a variety of topics. Its a great way to meet other Umoja students and be in community with your peers.
PORCH TALKS
Porch Talks are where we have courageous conversations and keep it real with where we are. These conversations are also known as "Indabas" which is Zulu for "discussion or meeting" are always a great time to connect, relax, and get support from your Umoja community. Save the date for Porch Talks this semester.

SDSU is hosting the first ever Black Transfer Student Success Conference! Free round trip transportation will be provided including meals. The purpose of the Black Transfer Student Success Conference is to connect with community colleges and prospective Black transfer students by featuring workshops, keynote speakers, and sessions focused on the admission process, campus resources, and community building. This year’s theme is "Voices of the Future: Elevating Student Leadership and Agency" and we aim to inspire and empower students to recognize their potential and advocate for themselves and their communities.
