As we move into the final month of 2024, I want to celebrate our community and share some exciting updates and upcoming events at E.O. Green Junior High.
Last Friday, we gathered as a school to honor the incredible hard work and achievements of our students during the first trimester with a Recognition Rally. It was inspiring to see the pride and enthusiasm of our students as we celebrated their dedication, growth, and accomplishments. We are so proud of our Hornets and look forward to more success in the coming months!
Looking ahead, Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled as follows:
For 7th and 8th grades, conferences will take place during the first week, beginning Tuesday, December 3, through Friday, December 6, 2024. The early dismissal bell schedule for 7th and 8th-grade students will also start on Monday, December 2, 2024. During this week, 7th and 8th-grade students will have an early dismissal at 1:45 PM on regular days and at 1:00 PM on Wednesday. Conferences will follow an alphabetical schedule based on students’ last names:

Last names A–D: 1:55 PM to 2:30 PM
Last names E–G: 2:30 PM to 3:05 PM
Wednesday, December 4
Last names H–L: 1:10 PM to 1:50 PM
Last names M: 1:50 PM to 2:30 PM
Thursday, December 5
Last names N–P: 1:55 PM to 2:30 PM
Last names Q–R: 2:30 PM to 3:05 PM
Friday, December 6

For 6th grade, conferences will be held over two weeks, beginning Tuesday, December 3, through Friday, December 13, 2024. However, the adjusted bell schedule for 6th-grade early dismissal will begin on Monday, December 2, 2024. During this period, 6th-grade students will have early dismissal at 1:20 PM on regular days and at 1:00 PM on Wednesdays. Teachers will contact families directly to arrange conference dates and times.
These conferences are a valuable time to connect with your student’s teachers, discuss progress, and set goals for the remainder of the school year. We encourage all families to attend.
We are also excited to invite you to our Winter Art Showcase on Tuesday, December 10, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Our talented students will display their artistic achievements, and more information will be shared soon. This will be a wonderful way to celebrate their creativity and hard work.
Finally, as a reminder, Winter Break begins on Wednesday, December 20, which will be a minimum day. Please plan accordingly for this early dismissal as we prepare to enjoy time with our loved ones.

MONTHLY CHARACTER RECOGNITIONS
Each month, Green will recognize one of the Six Pillars of Character. Students and staff are encouraged to wear tops corresponding to that month's character color on Fridays.
The character for December is Fairness. Staff and students are encouraged to wear Orange on Fridays.
