Stowe Halloween Parade - 2022
October 31st, 2022 @ 1:10 PM
Parade details ...
We are excited to announce that Stowe will be having our annual Halloween Parade this year! In order to make the event work, we have to follow the guidelines that are outlined below.
#1 Classrooms will be having a party! Most classroom parties will take place after the parade depending on the grade level.
#2 If you wish to send a treat/snack, you may send items that are unopened (store bought). Classroom teachers will provide safe and sanitary distribution in their classrooms.
#3 All students must follow costume guidelines.
- Costumes must be school appropriate and G-rated.
- Students will be asked to not wear a costume mask for safety reasons so we can easily identify them.
- Costumes must be easy enough to put on by themselves. If they can't do it themselves, they won’t be able to wear it.
- Costumes may not have any blood/gore.
- Students may not have any types of toy weapons as part of their costume.
#4 Students should not wear their costumes to school on October 31st. They will have time before the parade to change and again after classroom parties are done.
#5 Please send items that are appropriate for the weather. If we are able to go outside on this day - we will. A final decision will be made the day before the parade on if it will be held indoors or outside. If the weather does not cooperate, we will have the parade indoors and families are welcome to attend with seating in the gym and cafeteria.
#6 If you plan to take your child home after the parade you must let the office know about this plan in advance and check in with their teacher before they leave the building. Thank you for your help with this so we can keep all our students safe.
If you do not want your student to participate, we will provide an educational alternative.
Parade Route
Parade Route
The Halloween Parade will start at 1:10 on October 31st. Students will exit out onto 101st Ave West, walk 2 blocks and take a right onto Goodhue, walk 2 blocks and take a right on Griak St., and walk towards Stowe Elementary. Families are encouraged to park legally along the parade route. We also want all vehicles to remain parked until all students have passed. The police department will be joining us on this date to help with traffic.
Thank you for making this event safe and fun!
* We will make the decision by noon on 10/31 and publish that to our FaceBook page on whether we will be able to hold the event outdoors. We do have plans to hold the parade indoors on this date if needed and families are still welcome to attend. If indoors ... we will have families enter the building through Door "I" - where buses drop students off in the morning.
