The 4th and 5th grade band and strings put on another amazing performance. Our students are talented in and outside of the classroom. Thank you to all of our families that came out to support our students. It was a very festive Friday at DES. Thank you Ms. Cook, Ms. Ashby, and the entire 4th and 5th grade teams for working together to support our student musicians.

This week several essays were submitted and read as students competed for the Carson Scholar Award. Pictured to the right are all of our outstanding students that participated.

We also had a black out underground spirit day on Friday. The staff and students had many laughs. I am attaching a few of the pictures I received.

• With cold season in full swing, if your child needs cough drops in school, per our guidelines, you can send cough drops in (in the original packaging) with a note. The cough drops can only be given to the student for a max of 3 days.

• Just wanting to get the word out and get this on your radar. The mobile dentist will be coming to Dowell on February 7th. Consent forms will be sent home after the holiday break. There will also be an online option to sign up. I digital version of the form is attached.
