It was an absolute pleasure to welcome your children to school today.


Please make a note of any key dates during August and be sure to read through the news and notes below. We have lots of things happening around campus this month, from parent coffee talks and ice cream socials to curriculum nights, and we're all looking forward to a fantastic year of learning!

Admissions - Orientation checklist

It was wonderful to meet so many families at Orientation Day. Take a moment to download our Orientation Checklist here and make sure you have completed all of the necessary tasks. We have also included some useful links below.

Operations

Today was launch day for GLOBE’s Transportation Ridership Program. Pictured left to right, Director of Operations, Jen Parker, alongside bus drivers, Natasha Johnson and Rodell Young, as they made final checks during their early morning start.

Send us your photos

The yearbook is only as good as the pictures in it. We want your photos!
We especially would like:

  • Interesting photos from the summer.

  • First day of school pictures.

  • Photos of ANY GLOBE sporting event. If you go to a game during the year, please take pictures and send them to us.

Sharing photos with the yearbook staff has never been easier.

  1. Click here to go to GLOBE's Photo Share site.

  2. Click "Get Started"

  3. Add your contact information: Use I am a ... to make sure photos end up in the right place. If you choose Student, follow the onscreen instructions to make sure that the photo is tagged correctly.

  4. Check your email for a verification code. Enter it and click Verify to continue.

  5. Review the photo guidelines then select Choose Images to select photos from your device.

  6. Make sure you tag people in the photo.

Parent Teacher Community Council

GLOBE's PTCC is excited for the new school year. Please welcome Anna Holbrook as your new PTCC Co-Chair, alongside 2nd year Co-Chair MJ Levine. Please welcome Jennifer Hong as your new PTCC Secretary. And welcome back to Anne Teh serving in her second year as PTCC Treasurer.


The Leadership team invites you to join a PAC (Parent Action Committee) as a co-lead, join a subcommittee, or sign-up to be a Room Parent. Please complete the Parent Volunteer Survey, register for the new PTCC website, and stay tuned for upcoming PTCC events and volunteer opportunities.


We look forward to seeing you at the Ice-cream socials in a few weeks. We will also be at next week's New Parent Coffee Talk, so feel free to introduce yourself and ask any questions. You can also email PTCC Officers at any time.

Athletics

GLOBE Games - Friday, August 16 from 5:30pm

The second annual GLOBE Games will take place on Friday, August 16, from 5:30pm, at Silverbacks Stadium Field. Click here for details.

Visit the athletics website to find out about our athletics program and register for Fall Sports, including Cross Country, Boys Soccer, Girls Volleyball, and Ultimate Frisbee. You can also become a member of the GLOBE Athletic Club and learn more about our athletic program.


5th/6th grade female soccer players wanted for GLOBE’s YMCA recreational league teams
There are a few spots still open on the 5th and 6th grade girls teams that play during the fall in the Decatur-DeKalb YMCA recreational league. There are no tryouts and new or inexperienced players are encouraged. If you are interested, please email Coach Drew Whitelegg.
