Message from the Head of School
Dear Parents/Carers
As a school we ensure that reading is a priority and with this continue to develop pupils 'love of reading' through a variety of activities and events. I am so pleased that parents have supported us in this key message and were overwhelmed by the number of families that visited the Scholastic Book fair last week. We are delighted to share that a total £1,373.87 of purchases were made! This is fantastic news for the school, and all its pupils, as we will receive rewards to spend on new books for our school library and class book corners. We are looking forward to the next book fair in the Spring term. Thank you for all your support!
Hampton Primary Partnership will once again be part of the Remembrance parade this coming Sunday. We hope to see many of you there in marking such an important event in the annual calendar. A special thank you to Daniel (year 5) and Yara (year 3) who will be walking with the school as part of the event.
Next week, Year 3 and Year 6 commence their safety awareness courses. Year 3 will have the opportunity to develop their awareness of how to stay safe around and cross the roads in the local area, whilst year 6 will continue to develop their skills around their cycling proficiency. I hope they both enjoy the sessions and take away some very valuable life long skills.
It is a pleasure to welcome Miss Abid to the teaching team at HJS. Thank you for making her feel so welcome and for the positive messages I have received about her smooth appointment. 5A parents are welcome to attend a informal meeting on Monday in the Rose Hall.
Finally, I hope to see lots of families at the Fireworks display on Friday night! I am sure this will be a brilliant event that you don't want to miss!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Mr James

Message from the Office
Christmas Blue Peter Badge Competition
Mel Taylor-Bessent was a huge Blue Peter fan when she was younger, so you can imagine how thrilled she was when she heard ‘The Christmas Carrolls’ had been chosen for the new Blue Peter Book Club and that children aged 5-15 could write a review to get a new book club badge, designed by Quentin Blake. Download the form below and watch Mel’s video to take part.

A number of Year 5 pupils took part in the Primary Maths Challenge this week. They worked tremendously hard and showed brilliant resilience.
All Saints Church
5S, 5A, 5C and 5D thoroughly enjoyed their trip to All Saints Church on Monday and Tuesday afternoon where Donna, the vicar, led them through features you would find in a Church and some special occasions. All classes then participated in a treasure hunt to find these features around the church culminating in a scratch craft activity.
