Attendance
Whole School Attendance this week - 92.3%
We are aiming for at least 97% - let's work together to make this happen!!
Please remember that if your child is going to be absent from school you should call school before 8.30am to report this. If they are off for multiple days, you should call school each day that they are off. If your child is suffering from something such as a cough or cold we do recommend that you send them into school and see how they get on. It is amazing how many children perk up once they get into school and we can assure you that if it becomes evident that a child should not be in school we will make contact with yourself as parent/carer.
As a school, our attendance has greatly improved over the last year and this is all thanks to you and the effort you are making in getting your children into school every day.
Year 4 Wooler Residential
Our Year 4 children have been to Wooler Hostel this week for an overnight residential. They have been able to explore the countryside - butterfly, bird spotting and hill climbing! We have enjoyed the hospitality of the lovely Hostel and taken part in crafts and quizzes. They even changed their own bed and helped with the dishes!! The children were absolutely amazing and were an absolute credit to our school - we are very proud of them all!!
Weekly Reflection
Our word of the week has been 'support'. This week we have been thinking about how important it is to support each other when things are tough or when they go wrong. The word support means to agree with and give encouragement to someone or something because you want him, her, or it to succeed.
As we grow up, we learn to become more independent. However, there are still times when we need the help and support of others. Sometimes, a task can seem too big for us on our own, but with support from others, we can achieve far greater things!
In the Bible, in Matthew chapter 7 verse 12, we see Jesus sitting on a hillside, teaching his new disciples how to live God’s way. He says to them, 'Do to others what you would have others do to you.’ This teaching is still relevant for us today. What Jesus meant was very simple.
