Rock Your School Day Totally Rocked!
On Friday, we celebrated Rock Your School Day. In addition to creative lessons in the classrooms, students were treated to performances by the the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders on the lawn. Special thanks to Miss Londono for giving our students voice and choice by helping them pick songs to sing and create their own choreography. Give Miss Londono a follow on instagram @Rowaytonrocks music for a sneak peek of what's happening in music classes.

We are looking forward to the 2024 Walk A Thon! This is one of our biggest fundraisers, so get excited! Each student will walk a mile around the school field while listening to fun and loud music and cheers from their family and friends! Students will also receive a Walk-A-Thon shirt to wear that day, courtesy of our PTA Walk-A-Thon Committee. Families are invited to cheer on students.

October's Color of the Month is Pink
The Color of the Month for October is Pink! Pink can represent kindness, love, or shyness. Throughout the month, students will learn about these emotions and participate in activities that support wellness. Students will incorporate pink themes into body, heart, and mind activities. We ask families to join us by considering activities, crafts, or healthy snacks at home that can be used to promote wellness as we celebrate October! Check out a list of pink foods that you can try during this month. Thanks to the Staff and PTA Wellness Committees for facilitating this initiative!
Safety Drill on Monday, September 30
We will practice our first Lockdown drill on Monday. We do not actively simulate this situation. Teachers will have conversations about reporting to safe locations in various settings of the school, and staying quiet. If you do not want your child to participate in this conversation, please let your child's teacher know before Monday morning. We will continue to review or practice safety drills each month. Our staff and Safety Committee are commended for their attention to these procedures and protocols.
