SMAC Update
We have sent our SMAC & Zearn email to eligible student's parents or guardians. If your student was not eligible at the Mid of Year iReady Assessment, there is another opportunity at the End of Year iReady Assessment. Students will take this assessment in early June. Please email if you want a copy of your student's iReady report.

Grading Policy
Late & Make-Up Work
- Work from the first half of the Term is due by the midpoint.
- Work from the second half of the Term is due the last day of the Term.
- The grade for late assignment submitted following an unexcused absence will be reduced by one (1) letter grade.
Term 3:
- First half late/make-up work is due March , 2025 (TBA).
- Second half late/make-up work is due April 7, 2025.
Re-takes
- Assignments with a grade of D+ (69%) or lower may be retaken ONE TIME only.
- The retake must happen before the late/make-up work deadline.
- The highest grade possible on the retake is a C (76%).
- RCTs are an exception: all may be retaken for full credit.

Math - Mrs. Harris
Greetings Bridgetown Families! This week in Math 6, students will continue Unit 6: Expressions & Equations by learning parts of an expression, and how to substitute a number into a variable. All Math 6 students will take the Benchmark assessment which will cover the material learned so far. In Math 7, students will finish Unit 5: Rational Number Arithmetic. Students will take a Form A to practice for the upcoming RCT #5 assessment. The Formative & Summative will focus on performing all operations with rational numbers (7.NS.A.3). You can find rational number word problems here for more practice.

- Greetings Team Bridgetown! This week we will be reading more poems and short stories as we close up Unit 2. Students will get the opportunity to showcase their writing by completing a literary analysis essay on two of the texts we will be reading. Students who require additional writing assistance should come to advisory on Thursdays to work with me.
New Book Alert! We will be starting Unit 3 and reading “Inside Out & Back Again” by Thanhha Lai. Students who wish to have their own copy of the book should bring it in by February 24.

Hi Team Bridgetown!
Next week, we’ll be working on a Gizmo activity about gravity, which is due on Monday, February 7th. If students don’t finish in class, they’ll need to complete it as homework by the same deadline. Students will take roots quiz 3.2 on Fri 2/7 (roots words below)
After that, we’ll revisit key concepts from this unit, including the life cycle of a star, and begin preparing for our Earth’s Place in the Universe summative assessment, scheduled for Monday, February 10th. To help students prepare, there will be a study guide assigned as homework, also due on Monday, February 10th.
