Attendance
This week's school attendance is 94.3%.
Whole school attendance so far this year is 95.9%.
Reception & Key Stage 1 class of the week is 1B with 98.1% attendance.
Key Stage 2 class of the week is 4T with 97.8% attendance.
As always we aim for at least 96% attendance - we are already falling a little bit short of this.
We continue to receive numerous holiday request letters. A reminder that we are unable to authorise any holidays even if we sympathise with some of the reasons given.
Once more, here is the link to the attendance page of the school website which has information on the Penalty Notice system.
My Happy Mind Parent App
As stated last week, My Happy Mind has been re-launched in school and the children are taking part in Module 1 - Meet Your Brain. The link below will take you to the parent newsletter all about this module should you want to know more
Parent Newsletter MYB (lowash.bradford.sch.uk)
We also want to remind you that My Happy Mind has a parent app which can be downloaded. On this, you can access lots of useful resources to support with mental health and well-being. There are posters around school which show the QR code to scan to download the app. Alternatively you can visit the following page myHappymind Parent Resources
The school activation code you will need is 107272.
Introducing our Playground Buddies
Our Playground Buddies will help outside at breaktimes and lunchtimes and will also keep a close eye on the buddy bench if any pupil is feeling lonely and sits there.
Parent/Carer Survey
At Consultation Evening next week, there will be iPads available for you to complete a parent/carer survey. We will also send the survey home at the end of next week. We would really appreciate as many responses to this as possible. We received less than 60 responses after the last survey and we would really like to hear from more of you!
End of half term 'show-case'
A reminder that, next Friday (25th October) from 3.00pm, you are invited into your child's classroom to look at their work with them. We hope you will be able to join us. We will do this each half-term so, if you can't make it this time, don't worry. Gates will be open shortly before 3.00pm. Children will go home at the usual time.
Early Help
This is the support provided for children, young people and their families to respond when difficulties begin to emerge or to stop problems developing in the future. This support can be provided at any point in a child’s life to stop small problems getting bigger. Prevention and Early Help is not a specific service but a collaborative approach across all agencies that work with children, young people and families, who will work together to improve the outcomes for children, young people and families.
If, at any point, you are struggling with any issues at home, please talk to Mrs Jacqueline Hill or Mrs Sadie Kellett - it might be that a referral to Early Help could help you on the way to solving those issues. Thursday's drop-in sessions running from 9.00-9.30 could be an ideal time for you to talk confidentially and get appropriate support.
Low Ash 'Food Bank'
Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Low Ash 'food bank' this week. A huge thank you also to Wrose Chapel who have donated lots of items which we can give to our families in need. With half term approaching, we are in need of even more food and toiletry items to ensure all of our vulnerable families have what they need over the holidays.
Below is a list of items which would be greatly appreciated:
-dried food such as pasta / rice/ breakfast cereal/porridge
-canned food including canned fruit/beans/pasta
-tea, coffee, squash
-long life shelf goods such as UHT milk or biscuits/confectionery
-toiletries such as toilet paper / toothpaste/soap/ shampoo and sanitary items
Donations will be made into parcels for those in need.
Thank you for your support.
Forest Schools
More photos to show the Forest Schools fun which has been taking place this week.
Geography Fieldwork
Year 1 and 2 both enjoyed their Geography field work trips this week. Year 2 explored Wrose Road investigating whether there are more houses or shops and the reasons behind this.
Sport
Well done to the U9s and U7s football teams who played brilliantly this week. The U9s have qualified for the Bradford Schools finals which is a fantastic achievement. The U7s played brilliantly against High Craggs. Well done all - keep it up!
