Parents-please consider supporting the PAC by providing snacks for students during finals
Please help us support our GHS students by helping to keep their minds sharp during finals week. Please consider donating some delicious snacks. Please drop off to the GHS front office by Tuesday, January 21 so that we have them available on the first day of finals. Students, staff, and your GHS PAC truly appreciate all our parents who take time out of their busy days to donate these snacks. Remember "many hands make for light work"!

Student parking zones on campus for students with a parking pass.
Important Parking Update
As the winter months arrive, we receive more snow and more underclassmen get their driver's license and drive to school. As a result, parking becomes an increasing issue at GHS. Below are some important parking reminders in order to avoid receiving a parking ticket.
GHS Students - Don't forget that only juniors and seniors are allowed to park on campus with a parking pass. The map above shows the areas in which students can park on campus with a parking pass.
Students in grades 9/10 - All GHS students in grades 9 and 10 must park off campus. Students can park along Annie Street, which is a public road through the GHS campus. Additionally, students can now park along either side of Flanders Mill Road. Please see the map below for areas where students can park on Flanders Mill Road.
Students who are parked on campus without a parking pass and students who have a pass, but are in unauthorized parking areas will be subject to a parking ticket from the City of Bozeman. Additionally, we have seen an increase is dangerous driving in the student parking lots. Please be attentive to safe driving rules to help keep our campus safe.

Last week seniors completed their final English 4 presentations-great job!
GHS Parents Advisory Council (PAC)
Mark your calendars! The first PAC meeting of 2025 is Tuesday, January 21 at 6pm in the first floor of the GHS library. We will have a special guest from the Bozeman Schools Foundation. Amelia Huba will speak about houseless students in the district and what resources are provided to assist them and their families. Please join us to learn more about this important subject, as well as updates from Principal Schnee about GHS.
If you miss the meeting, or to view information from previous meeting, please visit GHS PAC Parent Resources. Highlights, as well as the schedule for upcoming PAC meetings can be accessed there.
The officers of the GHS PAC hope to see you next week and at future meetings. They are a great way to gain valuable information about initiatives affecting GHS students, faculty, and staff. There is no ongoing commitment required - attend as often as you would like!
Please send any questions to GallatinHighPAC@gmail.com, or reach out to one of this year's officers.

OPI School Climate Survey for 9th grade
In order to meet OPI accreditation standards, we are required to provide student input on a school climate survey. All freshmen students will take this survey on Friday, January 31st. Per school district Policy 2132 - Student and Family Privacy Rights, parents may review this survey prior to students accessing the survey. If you wish to view the survey, please reach out to Principal, Erica Schnee at erica.schnee@bsd7.org
Surveys Created by a Third Party
Before the District administers or distributes a survey created by a third party to a student, the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s) may inspect the survey upon request and within a reasonable time of their request.
This section applies to every survey: (1) that is created by a person or entity other than a District official, staff member, or student, (2) regardless of whether the student answering the questions can be identified, and (3) regardless of the subject matter of the questions.
Both bball teams went away with home wins this weekend - Thanks for the support!
Host a Japanese student from our sister school in Okinawa this spring!
Naha Kokusai Secondary School in Okinawa, Japan, has been Gallatin High’s Sister School since 2020. Teachers and administration on both sides of the exchange have been working to coordinate a visit from Okinawan students to Gallatin High and the Bozeman Community this spring.
Currently, we are looking for families/couples to host these 20 students and 2 teachers from Okinawa. This document (click here for more details) gives an overview of the responsibilities expected of, and opportunities offered to, host families. If you are willing and able to explore this wonderful opportunity for cross-cultural exchange, please complete the interest form. Thank you for your interest!
