This Week at GMSS

Hello GMSS families,

Last week was certainly a challenging week for GMSS students, families and staff. We never enjoy navigating situations like we did, but we appreciate all the efforts of communications and sharing from our families and students. Trust that we cannot always share certain details, but we are always focused on our kids and safety of all.

After a rough week, our students were absolutely amazing at the color splash. It was very heart warming to see normal fun and smiles as our students were able to "play" and enjoy the beautiful event. A huge shout out to our PTO and families for allowing this tradition to continue.

This week we have KONA ICE tomorrow during lunches for $4.00 if interested. FRIDAY we have our last picture make up day. This day is for all new students and anyone wishing for a retake of pictures, from 9:00 am- 11:00AM.

Tomorrow is our final parent/teacher conference for the fall. Reminder if you cannot make your time, please call the office so we can allow others to come. If you could not get in, please reach out to teachers for communication.

As the weather is every changing, please know we will be outside for recess as long as possible and students need to bring jackets if needed.

CLUBS

Each week I will share about a way that we recognize students at GMSS - This week’s student recognition update: Academic/ROAR Award - Rise and Shine! Roughly every six weeks, the staff across all disciplines and grade levels are given the opportunity to nominate students for their ROAR in the classroom - students and their families are invited to come in to GMSS for a Rise and Shine celebration where we serve light refreshments and honor the students in an award ceremony. Students are given a certificate, can take pictures with the nominating teachers, receive a chromebook sticker, free Kona Ice, and have their name announced on the ROAR Report.
