Titans' Times
Week-at-a-Glance (WAAG) for April 28-May 2, 2025
Making Earth Day Everyday
As we celebrated Earth Day earlier in the week, Legal Titans students' mission for the week was to practice caring for the Earth at home. The students have learned much about caring for the earth and stewardship of God's creation. Hopefully, these actions are transferred to their actions around their home.
Blessings for a great week ahead!

Counsellor's Corner
This weekly group is designed for children ages 8-12 who are struggling with anxiety, stress, low mood, emotion dysregulation, and fears. Using a mix of psychoeducation and activity-based techniques,
children will learn valuable tools for managing emotions and building coping skills. Children will learn how to identify and challenge negative self-talk, recognize their emotions, practice mindfulness, and develop adaptive behaviours to cope with difficult emotions, among other skills.
This program is canine assisted and will offer additional comfort and engagement through canine interventions and will offer parents the opportunity to receive helpful resources to support their child’s
progress at home.
If you have any questions please reach out to Mrs. Webb for more information.

Finding Your Calm
Big feelings are a normal part of life — but knowing how to manage them is an important skill! In our wellness lessons, we’ve been learning about self-regulation, which means recognizing our emotions and using strategies to calm our bodies and minds when we feel overwhelmed.
Here are three key steps to self-regulation:
1. Notice Your Feelings – Before we can calm down, we need to recognize how we’re feeling. Is my heart beating fast? Do I feel tense or frustrated? Paying attention to these signals helps us decide what to do next.
2. Use a Calming Strategy – Once we recognize a big feeling, we can use tools to help us calm our nervous system to think clearly. Some strategies we’ve practiced include: Deep breathing, Movement, Using positive self-talk, and Taking a break.
3. Make a Plan – Once we feel calmer, we can make a plan to solve the problem or ask for help if needed. When we regulate our emotions, we make better choices and feel more in control!
Family Connection: Ask your child which calming strategies they like to use. Practice one together the next time a big feeling comes up!
By learning to calm down before reacting, we can handle challenges with a clear mind and a steady heart.

Prayer of the peacful repose of Pope Francis
O God, faithful rewarder of souls,
grant that your departed servant Pope Francis,
whom you made successor of Peter
and shepherd of your Church,
may happily enjoy for ever in your presence in heaven
the mysteries of your grace and compassion,
which he faithfully ministered on earth.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in
the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
In Loving Memory of Pope Francis
Dear GSACRD Families,
It is with deep sorrow that we share in the mourning of Pope Francis, whose life of humble service, compassion, and leadership has left a lasting impact on the global Church and our Catholic school communities.
As we honour his legacy, students across Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools will be participating in prayer and reflection throughout the coming days. This includes a school-wide Novena (nine days of prayer for the repose of his soul) as well as morning intentions and learning opportunities that reflect on his life and teachings.
In recognition of this period of mourning, all school flags across the Division will be lowered until the day of the Pope’s funeral, in solidarity with Catholic communities around the world.
We encourage you to speak with your children about what they may see and hear at school during this time, and to join us in prayer as a family, if you feel called.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
May the example of Pope Francis continue to inspire faith, compassion, and unity within our homes and schools.
Blessings,
Dr. Clint Moroziuk

Alleluia, He is Risen!
On Thursday afternoon, we celebrated Easter as a school community! Thanks to Mr. Runco’s Gr. 5/6 class for leading us in prayer, Mrs. Pelletier and the choir for singing and Mrs. Zakreski, our Division Religion Consultant for delivering the gospel reflection. We are Easter people, it is such a special celebration that the Church has declared the Easter season to be celebrated for FIFTY days. Today we repeat those triumphant words: Alleluia, Christ is risen!
