Your Weekly Update from Natick High School

Principal's Message
Semester 1 of the 2022-2023 school year completed today with the last two midterm exam block this morning. I am hoping that the first half of the year has been successful for your students in the classroom and with their extracurricular activities.
Please note and remind your students to refresh their schedule prior to Monday, as schedule for Semester (half year) classes will have changed. Additionally, 11th grade students are scheduled for their Guidance Seminar for Term 3. This is an important time block for counselors and students to start to develop career or college plans.
Lastly, please see THIS LETTER as an update to our Principal search for Natick High School

STUDENT HIGHLIGHTS - The Mural Club
At the start of the school year, we looked for ways to bring students and staff together and improve visual spaces in the building with student work and creativity. Heather Pearson has led a talented group of student s with this work, and their projects are well underway across the building. There are plenty more to come throughout the rest of the year, but Ms. Pearson and her students have really added color and appeal to spaces at Natick High School. These students have made a huge difference in the common spaces within the school. Great work. Here are the students that have led the work (see images below).

Reminders and Important Points
1) If your student need to have a virtual telehealth appointment during the school day, they need to be dismissed for that time period and hold the appointment in a confidential area at home or outside of the building. We do not have private and confidential spaces for students to take these appointments during the school day in the building.
2) Parent pick up at the end of the school day - Please do not park in staff or visitor parking when waiting for your student at the end of the school day. There have been an increasing number of parents occupying staff and faculty parking spots when waiting for their children. This presents traffic and safety concerns at dismissal. Thank you for your understanding.
3) Wednesday, January 25th is a half day. Students will be dismissed at 11:00, please see the link above to see the schedule for the day.
4) Spring sports registration opens this Monday January 23, please see the link below under Athletics for more information.

HEALTH CLINIC
Just a reminder, if your child tests positive for Covid-19, they must stay home for 5 days. The day they started symptoms is Day 0, the next day is Day 1, then Day 2, etc. They may return to school on Day 6 and must wear a mask for an additional 5 days. A headache, scratchy throat, congestion/runny nose, cough, and/or fever are some of the more common symptoms of Covid-19.
Siblings and close contacts do not need to quarantine and can come to school as long as they are not having symptoms of illness. However, they must wear a mask for 10 days when around others following a Covid exposure.
