A Successful 7th Annual DCPT! That's a Wrap!

Dean Layman was the tournament director and Cindy Massey his able assistant. Even with computer trouble on Friday and a move indoors due to inclement weather on Sunday, Dean and Cindy did a great job running the tournament!

The pod captains did a great job of keeping track of scores and keeping games moving! Thank you for your hard work (some of you on multiple days)!

It was nice to see fans cheering on all of the players! And when it rained on Sunday, fans moved to TLAC to continue to support the players.

Banner volunteers did an excellent job! Banners that were featured: Gold Sponsor Baird; Bronze Sponsors Martin Overhead Door, State Farm Insurance - Scott Tyson, and Boyer Machine; In-Kind Donors Aton's Self Storage and Selkirk. Thank you to the banner hangers Bob M and Dan V. Special thanks to Tami S for her #Pickleball and to Bonnie R and Jennifer V for helping her install it.

Our vendors are always an important part of our tournament! They are a nice amenity for the tournament players, volunteers, and fans.

Thank you to the CPC members that donated amounts from $20 to $100 to help offset the cost of players' snacks. The donations were able to provide a nice variety of healthy and yummy snacks throughout the weekend. Thank you Bug B, Lisa B, Nancy C, Judy C, John and Rose Ann D, Julie F, Julie G, Brad G, Kalli and Malkiat G, Laura H, Laura K, Joe K, Greg M, Jerry R, Bonnie R, Cindy R, Tami S, Linda T, Sue W, and Capri Y. Thank you to Judy C and Mary M for collecting the money, and to Juliana B for purchasing the snacks. Also, special thanks to Julie G and Cork Liquors for providing all the ice to keep the drinks cold. And of course, thank you to Coca Cola - Columbus for keeping our players hydrated with water and Powerade.

Instead of a Silent Auction as in years past, this year there was a Player Raffle and a Volunteer Raffle with tickets drawn several times a day. Congratulations to all the winners! Special thanks to Selkirk for the player raffle prizes and to Juliana B for procuring items for the volunteer raffle and organizing the raffles.

The tournament would not be possible, or as successful, without the assistance of many, many volunteers before, during, and after the tournament. They helped out with taping courts, hanging banners, working player check-in, keeping the snacks and drinks cold & stocked, assisting with the player and volunteer raffles, handing out awards & taking photos of medal winners, tournament photographers, stepping up as pod captains, and setup/tear down. CPC and Columbus Parks & Recreation truly can't thank you enough for all your help and support.

We also cannot forget to thank our continued community partnership with Columbus Parks & Recreation for supporting CPC and letting us convert the four tennis courts to 12 pickleball courts, getting the shirts, the donated drinks from Coca Cola, and the tournament banner.

Thanks to everyone on the clean-up crew Friday and Saturday for getting things into storage and tidying up the grounds. Because rain moved all play indoors to TLAC on Sunday afternoon, final clean up did not go as it normally does. Thanks to everyone who stayed at Donner Park in the rain to help take down nets and banners, peeled tape off of the tennis courts, and helped get everything into storage areas to stay dry. We appreciate you! Also, thanks to those who stayed at TLAC to get nets off of the courts and packed up tables, snacks, t-shirts, etc.
