Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. I want to take a moment to thank all the parents who attended our recent Coffee with the Principal and Parent Learning Walk. Your presence is truly appreciated and makes a difference in our school community.
I'm thrilled by the fantastic school spirit displayed at our recent Clash of the Classes assembly. It's a testament to the Fighting Irish pride we share in being part of our school.
A huge thank you to those of you who attended our Choir show and JROTC District Drill Championship. I am constantly reminded every day of the amazing talent our students have at John F. Kennedy High School.
As we approach Teacher Appreciation Week, let's show our gratitude to the amazing educators who shape our children's lives every day. Thank you for your continued support.
Warm regards,
Dr. Sidhu, Principal, John F. Kennedy High School
CHKS Survey
Recently, we rolled out the CalSchls Parent Survey to measure parent perception here at John F. Kennedy High School. We appreciate the time and effort into taking these surveys. Your answers will help us understand your perspective and we can work on addressing those needs in the coming school year. Together, we can create positive change.
More information can be found below. Additional languages can be found on the top right of the survey page. Here is the link: https://wested.ugam-apps.com/wested/ts/j3qu

Back to School Registration
Exciting news for current and incoming Kennedy students!
We would like to officially present the dates and times for registration. Beginning July 22nd, each grade will have an assigned day they can attend to complete their registration. A makeup day will be offered on 7/26 for anyone who missed their registration dates.
For any students and parents/guardians new to Kennedy, we are hosting an informational orientation. For incoming parents, we are offering two opportunities to attend an orientation. You only need to attend one.
We are excited to grow and expand our Fighting Irish community!
TGR Learning Lab
The TGR Learning Lab offers interactive, career-focused STEM experiences for middle and high school students during the summer months.
STEM-based courses and workshops are offered for students in 5th – 12th grade including engineering, photography, computer science and more. Students also have the opportunity to participate in college prep workshops and our annual College Bound Academy.
Registration is open for their summer courses. Here is the link to register. Deadline is Friday, May 31st.
Every 15 Minutes
Recently, we had an impactful presentation on the epidemic of alcohol-related crashes here in the state of California. A disproportionate amount of those accidents AND those deaths involve teenagers. In collaboration with the La Palma Police Department, AUHSD Board of Trustees, Emergency Services, and Forest Home Memorial Center, we bring you this powerful presentation in order to shed light on this issue.
Construction
Parking Lot
Kennedy High School began a two-phase Solar Panel Project in the South (Student) Parking Lot. A portion of the South Parking Lot will be closed for 6-8 months. Therefore, student parking will be limited.
It is recommended that students are dropped off at school or carpool with other students. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience.
Student Parking Permit
Parking permits are to be displayed at all times when parked in the Kennedy Student parking lot. Please see Mrs. Alvarez in the Student window if you are in need of a parking pass. You can find the application and fees HERE.
