Principal's Message

Greetings Panthers!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful and relaxing weekend! Panther family, thank you so much for a wonderful second week of school! Our scholars and teachers have been working on building relationships, practicing school rules and procedures, and diving right into the curriculum and benchmarks!

As we prepare for week three, we have a few reminders for you regarding arrival and dismissal. Scholars should NOT be dropped off in the bus loop as this is a safety concern. At 8:15am, scholars are considered tardy. If you drop your scholar off after 8:15am, they must be signed in, in the front office. THANK YOU for your patience and understanding during our delayed dismissal this past week in order to get all of our scholars home safely. As a reminder, you will need a car rider decal, or a valid ID AND be listed on the scholar's pick-up list in order to sign them out. If you have not yet picked up a car rider decal or need to make any changes to your scholar's pick-up list, please stop by the front office. We recommend all families pick up a car rider decal, even if your scholar is usually a bus rider or walker. Having a car rider decal allows for a faster dismissal process both in the car loop and during a delayed dismissal. Parents, if your car rider decal is ever lost or stolen, please notify the school immediately.

Save the Date! Open House will be held on Thursday, September 12th. We invite you to come out, visit your scholar's classroom, see their teacher(s), and learn more about the academic expectations for the grade level! We hope to see everyone there!

As always, thank you so much for your support and for all that you do for the scholars at Phillis Wheatley ES. We look forward to seeing our scholars bright and early tomorrow morning by 8:15am.
