Heritage MS Band
Introductions
Mrs. Ledbetter
Hello parents and students!
My name is Beth Ledbetter, new director of bands at Heritage MS. Most of you are wondering, "Who is this new person?" So, I am going to tell you a little about myself before school starts.
I graduated from Texas Tech University and this is the beginning of my 23rd year of teaching band in public school. While in the Goin' Band From Raiderland, I met my husband who was a trumpet player. After college, he was a coach and science teacher and is now a school administrator. We have 3 children and 2 dogs. My oldest daughter is one of the Texas Tech drum majors this year and we are excited to go to the first football game to see her in action. My middle daughter loves playing bassoon and is also an athlete who loves tennis. My son is a 5th grader who can't wait to be in beginning band next year and plays soccer as well.
We are a family who loves the outdoors, nature, and traveling. We love hiking and skiing whenever we get a chance and this summer we visited 5 national parks where Grand Canyon and Mesa Verde were our favorites. Someday it's my dream to visit all of the national parks.
When I'm not enjoying the outdoors, I play clarinet with the Lubbock Civic Orchestra and occasionally with various churches around Lubbock.
I am ecstatic to work with Mr. Camp, parents, and students this year. I can't wait to meet you in person, learn about you, and make music together.
Mr. Camp
Landon Camp is in his fourth year of teaching and in his third year as the Associate Director of Bands for Heritage Middle School. He is a graduate of Lubbock Christian University, where he received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education.
While studying at LCU, Mr. Camp was a trombonist in the Symphonic Band, the LCU jazz ensemble, the Big Blue Pep Band, and the Lubbock Civic Orchestra. He also sang in many vocal ensembles including the Praise Choir, Chamber Singers, and Best Friends. In these groups, Mr. Camp toured across Texas and New Mexico as well as international tours in Austria, Romania, Croatia, Ireland, and Northern Ireland.
Mr. Camp met his lovely wife Sadie while in college and has been married for 2 years. In his free time, Mr. Camp enjoys playing games with his family and friends, reading Science Fiction and Fantasy novels, watching Star Trek, or shredding the slopes in New Mexico and Colorado. Mr. Camp is originally from Shallowater, Texas and is a graduate of Shallowater High School.
