AHS Meets Growth for the First Time
I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering belief in our school and your steadfast support. It is because of your dedication and commitment that we have been able to bring high expectations and consistency to our school. I am thrilled to share that, for the first time since the state began its current accountability model in the 2013-2014 school year, we have met our growth targets.
This accomplishment would not have been possible without the hard work of our students, the tireless efforts of our staff, the encouragement from our parents, and the continuous support from our community. Together, we have shown what is possible when we come together with a shared vision for success.
Thank you for believing in us and for being a part of this incredible journey. Here's to continued growth and many more achievements to come!
With immense Bulldog Pride,
Beverly Pennington, Principal
Be Pro Be Proud Event Recently Held at AHS
CTE students recently had the opportunity to explore various skill based professions through the Be Pro Be Proud NC mobile experience. Be Pro Be Proud allows students to explore, plan and launch careers in today's technical roles. Thank you to Ms. Eades for helping to make this happen!

Attendance Matters
Regular school attendance is critical to student success. Studies consistently show that students who attend school regularly are more likely to excel academically and stay on track for graduation. In accordance with board policy, high school students may not miss more than 10 days in any class in order to receive credit for that course.
We encourage you to monitor your child’s attendance closely. Should your child be out of school, please be sure to send a note. If your child has a scheduled visit to a college, possible work site or meeting with a recruiter, please complete the Educational Opportunity Form so that up to two days per school year can be excused. This form can also be used if your child will miss school for any type of educational trip. Your partnership ensures our students have every opportunity to succeed.
