Bulldog Bulletin

Reach for the Stars, Bulldogs! ⭐
Thank you to all our students and families who were able to attend and participate in Math and Mixed Media night. A special shout out to all of our staff, community, and student volunteers and a huge THANK YOU to all that attended the book fair. The evening was a lot of fun!
Our Early Act club sponsors, Mrs. Nichols and Mrs. Lindquist, and our Early Act club members want to thank our volunteers and school community for helping with collecting 361 pounds of compost over the last 5 weeks. We are so proud of these students and their leadership throughout this project.
We are excited to announce that Mrs. Tara Peacock has been selected to serve as the next Churchill principal. Tara is a Homewood resident and both her children went through District 153. After student teaching at Churchill, she has worked at Flossmoor SD #161 since the year 2000, first as a teacher for 19 years and most recently as an Assistant Principal for 5 years at Parker Junior High. As a community member and professional in our neighboring school district, she is well known for her strong passion for her work and for building great relationships with students, staff, and parents. We look forward to welcoming Tara in her new role when she begins on July 1, 2024.

Friendly Reminders
Families should please continue to follow our attendance, change in transportation, and arrival and dismissal procedures as we end the school year. We are noticing an increase in absences and/or tardies, last minute notification of changes in transportation, and those that are not adhering to our AM and PM transportation procedures. Let's go, Bulldogs!
- Please contact the attendance line at 708-647-2200 and keep both the teacher and office informed as soon as possible regarding a child's absence,
- No transportation changes are allowed after 2:30pm. Changes should be communicated to both teacher and main office.
- Review our Arrival and Dismissal procedures at https://secure.smore.com/n/c2skn. Always follow the communicated procedures and exercise the utmost caution during these times!
VERY IMPORTANT: Please remind your child that they are not to share food with other students during breakfast and lunch. This poses a safety concern especially for those students who may have allergies.
Lost and Found
As we approach the final days of school, please encourage your child to visit the lost and found for any missing items. Family members are welcome to also check out the lost and found and can do so after checking in at the office sometime between 8:00am-4:00pm.

Student Information Form - Class Placement
It is so important to us that every student finds a home and a real sense of belonging while they are here with us at Churchill. We will be working very hard over the next few months to gather important information from students, parents, teachers, and administrators in order to find the best fit teacher and classroom at Churchill. Many things are considered when making decisions about class placement including social emotional competencies, academic interests and achievement, and learning styles. Final decisions about class placement take place over the summer.
It is so important that we hear from you about your child. You know your child best and the information you provide will surely help us make an ideal class placement. There is a short form you may complete to help us get to know your child better. A hard copy of the form can be requested at Willow or Churchill offices, but we would encourage you to complete the form by clicking on the button below. You will need your child’s personal ID number to complete the form - do not complete without the correct number. The Person ID has been sent in an earlier email communication, but please contact the main office if you do not have the Person ID. We ask that you complete the form online or turn in a hard copy of the form to the Churchill office as soon as possible and no later than May 31st.
We are so excited to partner with you in this work. Unfortunately, we are not able to honor specific teacher or friend requests. There are a number of factors that go into building classes and for that reason we ask that you complete the form without naming a specific teacher. We value your input and ask that you trust our process for providing the ideal learning environment for your child.
Field Day Fun!
