Mustang Minutes
Sharing our Nashua + Mustang PRIDE
January 10 2025
Good afternoon McCarthy Mustangs!
Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, January 20, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It's a great opportunity to reflect on his legacy and spend time with your family. We look forward to welcoming the kids back to school on Tuesday!
We are excited to share that our students showed great progress on their recent i-Ready diagnostics! Overall, the proficiency rate in reading has increased by 6%, which is a wonderful accomplishment; math was behind it with 5%. The median percent progress towards Typical Growth for our school is 71%. This means that, on average, students are making significant progress towards the expected growth for their grade level based on their starting point. Typical Growth represents the average annual progress a student should make, and reaching 71% shows that our students are on track to meet or exceed their growth targets by June. We’re proud of their efforts and appreciate your continued support in helping them achieve their goals!
Notes from the Nurse
We wanted to remind everyone to be extra cautious about keeping the kids safe from norovirus, especially with flu season around. Make sure they wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water, especially before eating and after using the bathroom. Clean and disinfect surfaces frequently, especially in the kitchen and bathroom, and avoid sharing food or drinks. If anyone shows signs of nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, it’s best to keep them home and stay hydrated. Let's all stay safe and healthy!
If anyone has any returned dental forms could you please send them to the nurse’s office. Please encourage your students to return these forms – it is a wonderful free opportunity to get sealants for their teeth with a free dental exam.
The St Joseph Hospital Mobile Health Clinic and St Joseph Hospital Grey Nuns Thrift Store is expanding our Mission work to offer mobile quality healthcare and a FREE hot meal on Thursday, January 23rd from 4pm-6pm in front of the thrift shop at 11 Main Street, Nashua.
