Message from the Principal
Dear ALES Families,
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve school attendance, I’d like to remind everyone that attendance is very important to your child's success. School begins promptly at 8:00 AM, and our expectation is that students are in their classrooms and ready to learn at that time. Thank you for your support in helping us meet this goal!
With the colder weather approaching, please be aware that students will generally go outside for recess if the temperature is 10 degrees or higher. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. If you need any assistance with this, don’t hesitate to reach out to us—we’re here to help. This is also a reminder to please contact the office if your child's dismissal plans are changing due to the cold weather. We kindly ask that you notify us before 1 pm to ensure we can have the proper communication with your child's classroom teacher.
We have a very busy two weeks coming up!
As a reminder that our PTO Holiday Shoppe will be open this week during students’ book checkout time in the media center. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to purchase small, special gifts for their loved ones, with prices ranging from under $5 to $12. This is a cash preferred event sponsored and hosted by the ALES PTO.
We’re looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, Monday, December 9th, at 6:00 PM for our Band, Orchestra, and Choir Concert in the gym. It is going to be a fantastic evening of music, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
On Tuesday, December 10th, we invite you to join us for our ALES Dine and Share event at Village Pizza. It’s a great way to enjoy a meal and support our school at the same time.
Thank you for your continued support and consistency with your child’s learning. As we approach winter break, we take this opportunity to say thank you and we appreciate all that you do to help your child succeed.
Kind Regards,
Marilynn Smith, Principal

November D300 Food Panty Donations
Way to go 5th Grade! We collected an amazing 114 pounds of donations in November! Now, for December, we are ALL joining together as an ALES Family to support the D300 Food Pantry Holiday Collection! Our bonus collection item is pancake mix and syrup. Let’s keep the generosity going and make this holiday season brighter for those in need. Thank you for your continued support!
Calling All Aspiring Writers!
Mrs. Masching and Mrs. Klotter would like to encourage all students who wish to participate in the Student Author competition to continue working hard on their writing submissions. The deadline for entries is quickly approaching—January 15!
Please review the rubric below to understand how your entries will be judged. We are excited to see your creativity and effort shine in your submissions.
Keep up the great work, and best of luck!
