We are proud to spotlight our Kids Heart Challenge from last week and share the wonderful success of our school’s efforts. Thanks to the generosity of our students and their families, our school was able to raise nearly $1,100 for the American Heart Association. This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of our community’s commitment to supporting a great cause.
Additionally, our students had a blast participating in our Hoops for Hearts basketball game, where they took on our staff in a friendly competition. While our students gave it their all, our staff came out victorious with a 21-18 win. Regardless of the outcome, the event was a true testament to our incredible school spirit, with both students and staff coming together for fun, fitness, and philanthropy.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event a success and for helping us show what makes our school such a special place.
Hello PCK Families!
I hope everyone is having a great last week before our well-deserved spring break! The kids have been telling me all about what they’re going to be doing for the week off and everyone seems very excited. My week is going to consist of training, planning for some exciting summer events (more information to come), and working with the DCSO Explorers.
We had our district lockdown drill this week and I’m very pleased to say that the teachers and kids did an amazing job! We use the saying “Locks, Lights, Out of Sight” which the kids are quick to jump to. During a DCSD drill, the school partners with the Sheriff’s office as well as officers from DCSD security to check classrooms and speak with the kids. I encourage you to speak with your students about the process and if you ever have any questions about the drills or the procedure we use, please do not hesitate to reach out.
During spring break, please remember that the Sheriff’s Office and Safe2Tell are still resources for you and your students. Please look out for each other and if you have any safety concerns I encourage you to reach out so they can be addressed.
See you all soon,
Deputy Sandifer

Last week, our first graders had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a special evening dedicated to the importance of reading. The event, themed around camping, provided students with the chance to engage in a variety of fun and interactive reading-based activities.
Our dedicated staff worked tirelessly to organize this unique experience, ensuring that each activity was both educational and enjoyable for the students. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to them for their hard work and commitment in making this event a success.
We also want to thank you, our families, for your continued support in prioritizing your child’s literary development. Your involvement plays a crucial role in helping our students thrive academically.
Girls' soccer tryouts are just around the corner. They will be held on Tuesday, March 25 and Wednesday, March 26, from 3:15-4:15 p.m.
To ensure a successful tryout experience, students are encouraged to bring a change of clothes, a water bottle, and a snack. Please note that due to the unpredictable weather around this time of year, there may be last-minute changes to the schedule. If any adjustments are necessary, we will inform families ahead of time.
As we approach Spring Break, we wanted to send a friendly reminder about our school’s dress code policy regarding painted and colored nails.
For students in grades kindergarten through sixth, only clear nail polish is permitted. False nails, including acrylics, are not allowed.
For middle school students, the dress code still applies with a few exceptions:
- Students may wear colored nail polish, except for neon colors, black, metallic, glitter, or patterns of any kind.
- All nails must be the same color.
- Logos, stickers, pictures, or decals are not allowed.
We understand that some students may need time to adjust their nails to meet the dress code requirements. To give everyone the opportunity to make necessary changes, we are providing the Spring Break period to comply. Upon returning from Spring Break, any student with non-compliant nails will receive a dress code violation.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping our students follow the dress code.
Chess Club is back at PCK for the remainder of the school year. Beginning on April 7, the club will meet every Monday that school is in session from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. in the Science Lab.
The Chess Club is open to all students in grades kindergarten through fifth, and we encourage everyone, whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, to join in the fun and challenge of chess. To register your student, simply click the button below and choose the Parker Core Knowledge location.
Registration is still open for our K-5 PCK Spirit Camp, taking place from March 24-26 from 3:15-4:15 p.m. We encourage families to register soon, as the camp will begin immediately after spring break.
This year’s camp is unique, as it has been extended to three days, providing our campers with extra time to perfect their routines. The campers will have the opportunity to showcase their hard work at our Boys Volleyball game on March 26.
To register, please click the button below.
As the cold weather begins to wind down, we would like to remind you to encourage your student(s) to check the lost and found for any cold weather gear they may have misplaced while at school.
Please note that once we return from spring break, all unclaimed items will be donated to those in need.
There are only four available slots left to rent the PCK Spirit Rock for the remainder of the school year. All proceeds from the rentals will go directly toward supporting the eighth-grade graduation, helping to create a memorable celebration for our students. If you'd like to reserve a spot, simply click the button below to secure your rental.
The deadline to purchase a yearbook is fast approaching, with all orders due by Friday, April 25. To purchase your yearbook, please use PCK’s unique school code: 1015343699083637. All orders must be placed through Treering.com.
At this week's SAC meeting, PCK's Finance Director, Heather Chapman, presented the plans for the 2025-26 budget. We are happy to report that the budget is progressing right on track with the mission and vision of our wonderful school.
We were especially impressed and delighted to see that supporting our dedicated teachers remains a top priority within the annual budget. This commitment underscores the value we place on the incredible educators who make PCK such a special place.
Our next SAC meeting will be on April 9 at 8:15 a.m. As always, if you have any questions about the SAC or would like to raise any topics at the meeting, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at SAC@ckcs.net.
This week, we are pleased to recognize Sanjiv Topiwalla as our Volunteer Spotlight. Earlier this week, Sanjiv stepped in to serve as Safety Dad, volunteering his time for the entire day. He played a key role in assisting our staff with carpool setup and helping with day-to-day operations throughout the school.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Sanjiv for his dedicated service and invaluable contributions. His efforts help strengthen our community and make PCK a more connected and supportive environment for all.
