The Clarkstown Connection
April 2025

A Message from the Superintendent
Dear Clarkstown Central School District Families and Staff,
This month has been filled with meaningful experiences across our schools. From noteworthy achievements to thoughtful conversations, we have been reminded of the importance of both expression and collaboration in learning.
Clarkstown High School North sophomore Alex Frank was recently selected as the winner of St. Thomas Aquinas College’s inaugural Art for Social Change Contest. The competition invited high school students to explore the theme “Engaging Democracy” through visual and narrative storytelling. Alex’s creative writing piece, "Pierce the Heavens," stood out among the submissions and reminds us of the important role our young voices play in shaping the world around them. Well done!
I met with the Student Advisory Council on Tuesday to review the Portrait of a Clarkstown Learner framework. The conversation sparked engaging dialogue about our North and South learners’ experiences in the District. They also shared thoughtful feedback on how we can continue to improve. These unique perspectives are essential as we work to create learning environments that support all students.
Now, let’s take a look back at some of the memorable moments and accomplishments from April!
Sincerely,
Marc P. Baiocco, Ed.D.

A Look Ahead
During its special meeting on Tuesday, April 22, the Board of Education adopted the District's 2025-26 Proposed Budget. If approved by the qualified voters of CCSD on Tuesday, May 20, funding for next school year would total $265,386,114 and result in a 2.45% tax levy increase. Additional details regarding curriculum enhancements, capital upgrades and other key initiatives will be shared in the upcoming budget edition of the Clarkstown Connection. Be on the lookout for it and don't forget to take part in the annual School Budget Vote and Board Election!
