Primary Families -

Happy December! It's hard to believe that we've already reached the last month of the year. Reflecting on the past months, I am bubbling up with pride and gratitude for the positive energy and enthusiasm that permeates our school community.

A few bits of information and reminders for families if they come to visit during lunch:

• Park in the bus loop on the side closest to the building

• Let the office know if you would like to order a lunch from our cafeteria

• We have MANY families who come on Fridays and often not enough tables so if you are ABLE to come Monday-Thursday that would be helpful.

There are many wonderful happenings and upcoming events that will make this holiday season memorable for our Primary family including:

• Friday, December 13th - 1st graders go swimming at the WCC
• Saturday, December 14th - PTO's Secret Santa's Workshop: See flyer below
• Friday, December 20th - Wear pajamas day and the 1st graders see the Polar Express
• Monday, December 24th - Friday, January 3rd - No School, winter break
• Monday, January 6th - School resumes

Also, as the weather becomes colder, please be reminded that students go outside for recess. It is time to start packing that winter gear and remember to LABEL everything! Thank you so much for your help with that - we want to keep our lost and found levels low and every item with students.

The class introduces Myla Wilson, a professionally trained Ukrainian gymnast who will share her many talents and experiences.

Join us to help your son or daughter learn to be active and confident! Held each Thursday in the gymnastics room at the Wildcat Community Center, our new Active and Confident class encourages parents of two to three year old's to participate and learn various skills. Your toddler will love this class! In this class children will learn new skills and abilities of the body! They will become more confident, develop coordination, flexibility, balance and more! They will have fun learning from playing games, running, jumping, climbing and parents will be active too! Parents, plan to participate with your child in this class, and let’s have fun together! The 2 and 3 year old's will meet each Thursday for six weeks at 9:30 am. Please wear comfortable sportswear.

Join Princess Belle in her rare Christmas dress for an enchanting afternoon! Your little princess(es) will have the chance to meet and take photos with princess Belle, create a craft, enjoy a light snack, and participate in a Christmas story-time and singalong with Belle!

This will be an open-house type setting where you can come and go at any time during the event! Please note: Belle will be doing story-time and singalong at approximately 2:15pm.

Princess dresses are encouraged!

Chisago Lakes Teams in grades 2-6 are being formed to compete in the Forest Lake Basketball League. This league will focus on improving basic skills such as dribbling with both hands, shooting, passing, game positions and offensive/defensive techniques. Register for the grade the participant is entering in the fall. Games will be played at Forest Lake Area Middle School (FLAMS), game times are at 6:15pm or 7:15 pm. Games are played beginning in late January, and go through February. This is intended for kids that are not in Traveling Basketball.

In addition to the one game night, the participant will have potentially one practice a week at a school located within the Chisago Lakes district. Practices will be planned and communicated by the volunteer coach after the coaches meeting. All players will receive a t-shirt if registered by the deadline, so please indicate size when registering.

Please join us for our Wild River SkiSparks Cross Country Ski Club at Wild River State Park this winter! We meet Sundays, from 2pm-3:30pm starting January 5th 2025 until February 23rd 2025. All levels welcome- ages 4-13 years old. We teach using a research backed curriculum, play games and ski the beautiful trails of Wild River State Park.
