Graduate Spotlights!
This week, we are spotlighting our final two 8th-grade students - Skyler and Graham. We are incredibly grateful for their presence in our St. Mary's community and excited for their next steps. Thank you, Skyler and Graham, for how well you have served the St. Mary's community!
Skyler
Skyler has attended St. Mary’s School since the 6th grade. She has felt blessed to have had the teachers and peers throughout her time at our school. Skyler has proudly been serving as the Student Body President. During her term, she organized a bake sale fundraiser, field trips, and service trips for the middle school. She has cherished her memories of playing on the basketball and volleyball teams as well as being part of the Rowing Club and the Running Club. She is passionate about the arts and has really enjoyed learning about music theory, learning how to change scales while singing, creating Tim Burton-inspired drawings, and especially making pottery Saints. Skyler will be attending Brookline High School next year!
Skyler - we will miss your cheerful spirit and positive outlook towards each day. We are excited to see you thrive in high school!
Graham
Graham has been a proud member of St. Mary's School for two years. He says that he is sad to be parting ways with his beloved teachers, specifically Mr. Febesh, as well as his beloved friends and the community as a whole. In his time at St. Mary’s, Graham has been thrilled to dive right into learning French. Although he wishes he could stay, he is very excited to be going off to New Mission High School in the fall to join the class of 2028!
Thank you, Graham, for your joy and kindness to all you encounter. We will miss you!

PreK
We have some exciting news in PreK: students are noticing chrysalis! Their caterpillars are one step closer to becoming butterflies! What started out as an egg became a caterpillar, and then when it was fully grown and no longer eating, the chrysalis formed. Finally, the adult stage of butterfly will occur, which students will be thrilled to see!
K1
K2
Grade 1
During Grade 1's "Outer Space Day," the class started the day with an outer space themed math escape room. After they solved the clues, they created their own rocket ship. To finish, in science class students went on a virtual field trip to outer space! They learned the facts about the planets, dwarf planets, and more. Students shared how they were especially intrigued by the ice giants - Uranus and Neptune. Did you know that one orbit for Uranus around the sun takes about 84 Earth-years? Ask our 1st graders to share fun facts like that one with you!
Grade 2
2nd grade students are finishing the year with a challenge - 3 digit addition and subtraction. Rather than coasting to the finish line, students are flying right through it by engaging in difficult math problems to prepare them for the years ahead. By using multiple different strategies, they are creatively solving these problems!
Grade 3
Students in 3rd grade are having a great time preparing for the Social Studies Fair June 13th. Below you will find a glimpse of the various projects students are preparing, including the White House, Supreme Court, US Capitol, and more. Students also explained how the virtues they learned this year relate to their projects. We can't wait to see the completed versions on the 13th!
Grade 4
This week, the 4th grade class learned about the fifth commandment: "Thou shall not kill." They talked about how taking care of their bodies, taking care of the earth, and speaking well about other people are all related to this commandment. They answered the question, “What can you do to keep your home and school peaceful?”
Students also created fun tee shirts for Field Day on Monday!
Grade 5
5th grade has been learning about the growth of the United States. They have studied many events including early presidents, the Lewis and Clark Expedition, the Oregon Trail, and the Gold Rush. Students were tasked with choosing an event that they studied and creating a poster that explains why it was important towards the growth of the United States. This week they have been working on their posters that they will share with the class next week.
