Our Fourth Graders will Celebrate America on March 28th!
Mrs. Gabriel wanted to send an invitation to all parents for our 4th grade musical performance which will be held on March 28th at 1:00 pm. Students will begin rehearsing for the performance during their regular music and related arts classes soon. We hope to see you there!
Weather Unit Test this Friday!
Students will complete their weather unit study guides on Wednesday and bring them home to study for their test on Friday.
Division Unit Test Monday
My math students will wrap up their division unit on Friday and will bring home a study guide this weekend for their test on Monday. They will be tested on their knowledge of dividing up to 4 digit by 1 digit numbers using the Partial Products and Area Model strategies. They must also be able to find the dividend, divisor, quotient, and remainder in a division problem. See picture to the right. Lastly, students will solve several division word problems using any strategy they like.
You can help your child to study by practicing their multiplication tables so that they are ready for their test:)
Class Pictures this Wednesday, January 30th
Students brought home order forms for class pictures in last week's Tuesday folders. If you would like to order class pictures, fill out the form and send it with your money by Wednesday. I do have extra order forms if you need one.
Remind your child to dress "sharp" on Wednesday!
Partial Products and Area Model Help
Hi parents. I found two videos explaining the Partial Quotients division method. You may also hear the kids call it “the big 7” method.

I also found a video explaining the Area Model of division. (The teacher calls it the "Rectangle Model.")

I hope these help in case students are still struggling with their homework.
