Help Us Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month September 15 - October 15
We are looking for parents and guardians who might be interested in helping us create and lead fun, interactive, and informational Hispanic Heritage Month experiences for our students here at the Bridge.
We'd love to be able to offer these opportunities in our media center either in the morning before school (from 8:20 to 8:45 each morning) or during our Flex period times (between 11:19-12:48 pm Monday, Tuesday, Friday and between 11:43 - 1:12 on Wednesdays and Thursdays).
Some ideas for experiences that could both entertain and inform our students about different Hispanic and Latinx cultures could be:
- Craft experiences: make and take items such as papel picado, folk art recreations, traditional jewelry, etc. We would pair these items with informational flyers so that they can also learn some of the history and significance of the items that they are creating during the crafting experience.
- Dance experiences: teach students and staff the basics of traditional/cultural dances
- Story experiences: read aloud from one of our many books that celebrate Hispanic characters and cultures, share traditional folk stories from a specific Hispanic culture or, for our Hispanic families, share a story from your family history that reflects something about your family's country or culture
- Teaching experiences: share information with kids about a specific Hispanic country or culture
Other ideas are also welcome. We'd be happy to brainstorm and talk about the possibilities for celebration and learning with you.
If you'd like to run a student activity and are ready to sign up for a day and time, please use this form: https://forms.office.com/r/bPrpf3eMQH
To be eligible to volunteer and work directly with students, we will need you to complete the volunteer registration and application process. This can be found here: https://apps.raptortech.com/Apply/MjI2OmVuLVVT
We would also love to host another Hispanic Heritage Month luncheon for our teachers and staff (not students); last year's was a huge success! If you'd like to volunteer to make or bring food or help with setup or cleanup for this, please fill out the form here: https://forms.office.com/r/DivKMDUm95
Thank you, and please feel free to reach out any time to our school librarian, Ms. Keown at KeownL@fultonschools.org and/or our bilingual liaison, Maria Baron, at Baronm@fultonschools.org with questions or suggestions.
Automated Missing Assignment Alerts
Students complete a number of learning tasks to master content. Work that is selected to be graded is considered critical evidence to the learning targets. Students will always be permitted to submit missing assignments (late work penalty may apply) for credit. Please communicate with your child's teacher(s) for support with getting assignments submitted.
Save the Date: Annual Title I Meeting and Curriclum Night Sep. 14
Following the Annual Title I Parent Meeting, we will host Curriculum Night at 6:00 PM. Come meet your child's teachers and hear about what your child will be learning this year, as well as resources to support learning at home.
Please review our School Family Compact and Parent-Family Engagement Plan (PFEP)
A School-Family Compact for Achievement is an agreement that families, students, and teachers develop together. It explains how families and teachers will work together to make sure all students get the individual support they need to reach and exceed grade-level standards. Parents and students over age 10 should sign off digitally to acknowledge you have read, received, and agree to the School-Family Compact. Directions to sign off are included on the graphics below.

The Parent-Family Engagment Plan establishes the school’s expectations for parent and family engagement and describes how the school will implement many parent and family engagement activities, and it is incorporated into the school’s plan submitted to the local educational agency (LEA).
