Welcome Back Amazing Families,

You might have noticed our marquee outside the school says We Have Outrageous Love for our Community. This year Parkway is bringing in Dr. Sharroky Hollie to teach us how we can better reach all children. Dr. Hollie calls this Outrageous Love. We strive for Highcroft Ridge to continue to grow to become a community where everyone, despite gender, culture, religion, political affiliation, and other factors belongs and is loved at Highcroft. Thank you for sharing your most precious children with us. We love them and are excited to watch them learn and grow. We have outrageous love for our students, staff, and community.

I am sending this again as I accidentally forgot to set the "set ahead" function and sent it out early. For those of you who count on it at 3:00 pm, I am sending it again. My apologies.

Curriculum Night - We Cannot Wait to Connect

We were hoping that by now we would be able to welcome you all into the building but that is not the case. We will be hosting a virtual Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 9th.

Sept 8: On September 8th, you will receive information on the curriculum and instruction for your child. There will also be a link for you to ask questions and suggest talking points for the live event.
Sept 9: On Sept 9, there will be a live Q and A. There will be a session at 6:00 pm and one at 6:30 pm. These sessions will be recorded and sent out to families who either cannot attend or have more than two children at Highcroft Ridge.

Dr. Nomensen Interviews of the Week

This week I interviewed first graders when they were eating lunch. I asked them what was their favorite thing about school. Be prepared for cuteness.

Updates From our Favorite Nurse Hubert!

We have all been on high alert with the uptick in recent COVID cases within the district and St.Louis County area. Please let us know if your child has been exposed to or tested for COVID. It is most important that we all follow the quarantine and isolation precautions that have been set forth by the St. Louis County Health Department. Sometimes even the slightest “allergy” symptoms, fever, headache or cold symptom could be COVID. Please do not send your child to school if they aren’t feeling well.

If your child has one low-risk symptom and no exposure then they may return 24 hours after symptoms resolve.

If they have 2 or more low-risk symptoms or 1 high-risk symptom and no exposure then they will need to be evaluated by a health care provider before they return to school and they will have to test negative for COVID.

If they have any symptoms and exposure then they will need to be quarantined from school for 10 days from the last contact unless symptoms develop in which case they will need to be tested and isolated if they are positive. Before returning to school they will need to have clearance from their primary care provider or the St. Louis County Health Department.

Low-risk Symptoms are fever greater than 100.4, congestion/runny nose, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, sore throat, headache, muscle aches or exposure to a COVID-positive person.

High-risk Symptoms are Cough, difficulty breathing, loss of taste or sense of smell.

We want to keep everyone safe, this includes all children, parents, teachers, staff and extended family members. We can only do this with your help and cooperation. Again, please let us know if your child has experienced any symptoms, exposures and has been tested. Let’s work together to keep each other Highcroft Strong and Healthy.

Upcoming Flu Vaccine Clinic Again this year we will be offering a flu vaccine clinic for students. Unfortunately, we can not open this up to families or siblings. If you would like for your child to have a flu vaccine given at school by the VNA, please print and sign the attached consent form and provide a copy of your insurance card. Please return the form to school by September 20th so that I can have an accurate count of how many vaccines are needed.
