Parent Teacher Conferences October 29th and 30th
As the first quarter of the school year comes to an end our teachers will be holding parent teacher conferences. The grade level teams will send out an invite for you to be able to sign up to meet with them. To schedule an appointment with our elective or PE teachers please email them or simply stop by to see them when you are in the building visiting the grade level team teachers. The link below is a list of email addresses for elective and PE teachers: PE Teachers
A few of our PE teachers and elective teachers have multiple spaces and rooms that they use. Due to that we will have a document at conferences indicating what room all elective and PE teachers will be using during conference. We will also have building maps available to help you find your way around the building.
Please know first quarter grade cards will be posted in Focus on October 23rd after 4:00 pm.
Students Checking in Late or Returning from an Appointment
As our students are old enough to check themselves in to school, parents do not need to come in with them. You are welcome to if you desire, but we do not require a parent to come in when a student is arriving to school late. Please know, parents do need to come in to check their child out. Below are the steps students go through to check in:
STUDENT CHECK-IN PROCEDURES
Students: If you're late to school, please have your Student ID readily available on your phone, either as a screenshot or through the WSD Focus app.
Procedure:
- Scan your ID: Scan your Student ID using one of the two KIOSKs in the main office.
- Obtain your pass: The KIOSK will print a pass for you. This pass is your authorization to enter class.
- Report your arrival: Inform the Attendance Secretary of the following: who brought you to school, the reason you are late, physician excuse notes, etc.
- Proceed to class: Proceed directly to your class.
Remember: The printed pass is your official authorization to enter class.
Parents Checking Students Out Early from School
As a parent have you ever had to check your child out from school? Well, our new Focus App can help make the process easier and faster. All you have to do is simply download the App and upon arriving at SMS have the barcode image from the Focus app ready and scan it at one of the kiosks in the office. This will significantly speed up the process. Please remember to also have your photo ID with you when checking out a student.
