Dear Families,
As I was reading the news headlines this week, I saw multiple articles regarding the devastation caused by the California fires and how many different communities were affected by them. I also read how multiple groups around the United States came together to offer support. This support and community made me think about SkyView.
As our mission statement says, SkyView Academy offers a research-based, content-rich liberal arts program with a commitment to world language studies and community service. Staff, parents, and students are actively involved in a culture of expectation and support where individuals are respected, valued, and known by the content of their character.
This culture of learning, community service, and respect can be seen daily in the halls and the community. Many times, I’ve watched as classmates helped each other with papers that have fallen out of binders, invited another student to eat lunch with them when they were new and hadn’t made connections yet, helped organize lockers, or simply gave a hug when a friend was upset. Our students have organized shoe drives, made holiday cards for assisted living facilities and The Backpack Society, helped at Wreaths Across America, volunteered at local food banks, and actively participated in Wish Week.
At SkyView Academy, we not only strive for life-long learning but encourage community involvement and respect for all. I am beyond proud to say I am part of a community that strives for this goal.

Auditions Opening for Alice in Wonderland!
Attention SVA students in grades 6, 7, and 8! On January 22nd and 23rd, auditions are coming up for our production of Alice in Wonderland. To participate, pick up a packet from the folder outside Mrs. Vitulli's room (125), fill it out, and get a parent's signature.
Remember, signed forms are due by January 17. Once submitted, you'll access the Alice in Wonderland Google Classroom page. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity!
