Hello Tamarack Families,
It has been wonderful to see you and your children in the halls during conferences, watching as your kids share their school community with you, thank you for coming!
The coming weeks will fly by and soon we will be launched into 2025! In November we celebrated Gratitude, in December we will be exploring what it means to be Generous, to give without expectation of receiving. We will focus on acts of service giving our time to help others in the school, not material possessions :) Looking forward to a month full of service and words of affirmation as well as generously giving our time in support of each other.

Resources for Families
Many of you have asked about team sports at Tamarack, we do not have sport teams at the elementary level in the schools, however Hillsboro Park and Rec organizes recreational team leagues for all schools through their classes/programs: https://www.hillsboro-oregon.gov/our-city/departments/parks-recreation/classes-programs
Recreational Leagues are created from all the neighboring elementary schools and games are played at our neighborhood schools. In the Spring, Tamarack will have a track team for students in 4th-6th grade, this is through a grant and supported by Mr. Scheafer. Let us know if you need help navigating the park and rec classes.
Also, as we approach the Winter Break, here is a link to resources available in the Hillsboro community that provide services you may need for you and your family. Hillsboro School District staff also are available to help guide and assist you. Resources for Families | Recursos para las Familias 24-25

Human Rights Day is observed annually around the world on 10 December. It commemorates the anniversary of one of the world's most groundbreaking global pledges: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This landmark document enshrines the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.
The Declaration was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on 10 December 1948 and sets out, for the first time, fundamental human rights to be universally protected.
As a “common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations”, the UDHR is a global blueprint for international, national, and local laws and policies and a bedrock of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.
It is available in 577 languages, from Abkhaz to Zulu, making the UDHR the most translated document in the world.
