We had a great start to the school year! We had a great Opening Day Assembly and Mr. Tompkins surprised everyone with this years Advisory theme, constellations! Students faced off with a silly and fun challenge! We also welcomed staff back. They too joined our forced fun activity and faced off in an Educators Chopped Challenge! Miss Pelletier, Mrs. Karagainnes, Mr. Ross, and Ms. Witham won the challenge! A special thanks to Mr. Roddy, Nurse Baileigh, and Erskine sophmore, Dylan Saucier who surprised staff as our guest judges.

We love to see your student(s) each morning but please remember that morning drop off is 7:30am. We understand everyone has work and places to be, but it's important to us that we have staff present to monitor our students. Each morning Mr. Moody, Mrs. Studholme or Mrs. McGee will greet students so they know when it's time. Thank you for your help with this!

We are aware that the blinking school zone lights are not working properly. We are currently working to get them fixed swiftly. In the meantime, please use caution especially with the construction at the front of the building. Remember to maintain 15mph during morning arrival and dismissal times. Officer Lefferts and our local officers are assisting with monitoring motorist speeds to the best of their ability.

In honor of the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, China Middle School is hosting a Free Car Wash for First Responders, Fire Fighters, Police Officers, Paramedics, EMT’s, and Veterans!

Every guest will receive a free car wash, refreshments, and a thank you card from our students for your service in protecting us, our communities, and our country! Please spread the word. Help us teach our students how to give back to those who have given so much to us!

Be sure to get those back to school forms filled out and returned as soon as possible. Many of them have been returned but many are still missing. China Middle has a reputation for having the best turn out in the district for families that return all their paperwork. ::Mmm hmm:: A little healthy competition within the district never hurt anyone. 😆 Help us win again this year!

Welcome back to another exciting year at RSU 18! Our talented Nutrition staff strive to prepare healthy, nourishing meals for our district’s students and staff each day. Watch the menus for new entrées this year. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Start your day the right way with a healthy breakfast.

I am pleased to announce the district will be receiving federal funds from USDA to operate a Fresh Fruit and Vegetable program in seven of our schools! The program is to increase the availability of free healthy snacks to the students each day. Atwood, Williams, China Primary, and China Middle School will continue their programs from last year and begin serving snacks on September 10th. James Bean and Belgrade Central are new to the program and will begin offering the snacks on October 1st.

Welcome back from the China Schools PTO! The 2024-25 school year is sure to be fun with events like the Glow Dance and a Read-a-thon, and other cool fundraisers and activities, too. Make sure to keep checking in for opportunities to join in! All of our events are made possible by awesome volunteers! Thank you!! And all the fundraising supports our students and staff to ensure we have field trips, classroom tools and supplies, and enrichment opportunities for PreK-8th grade!
