Sharing Best Wishes for 2024
December 8th, 2023
Dear CSP Elementary School Family,
I hope this message finds you well. As we navigate through the school year, I am delighted to share some important updates and highlights from Chesapeake Science Point Elementary School.
1. Saturday Academy Attendance Appreciation: A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who have made it a priority to ensure their students attend Saturday Academy. Your commitment to your child's education is truly commendable, and we appreciate the collaborative effort to enhance their learning experience. Keep an eye out for upcoming invites, as we continue to provide valuable opportunities for additional enrichment.
2. iReady Diagnostic Update: Last week marked the beginning of our iReady Diagnostic assessments, and I am pleased to report that the process has been running smoothly. The valuable insights gained from these assessments will help us tailor our instruction to meet the unique needs of each student. We will be concluding the iReady Diagnostic this coming week, and I appreciate the students' dedication to showcasing their skills and knowledge.
3. PTO Success: A big shoutout to our incredible PTO for organizing not one, but two fabulous events this week. The Heritage Night was such a beautiful event. It was great hearing our students talking about their families and cultures. The Fun Run was also fantastic! The event was a tremendous success, fostering a sense of community and school spirit. Your support and active participation contribute significantly to the positive atmosphere at CSP Elementary, and we are grateful for your ongoing dedication to our school community.
4. CSPES Chorus Concert at CSP Middle High: Save the date! Our Chorus Concert is scheduled to take place at CSP Middle High on the 21st from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. We invite you to join us for an evening filled with musical talents showcased by our students. Your presence at this event would mean a lot to the performers, and we look forward to sharing the joy of music with you.
As always, your involvement and support are crucial to the success of our school community. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the school office.
Thank you for your continued partnership in making Chesapeake Science Point Elementary School a thriving learning environment.
Warm regards,
Tabatha Camacho

Suggestion Box Follow-up
Each week, we will share some suggestions from the Virtual Suggestion Box, along with any feedback we have to offer.
"Reinstate some covid hand cleaning practices to slow all the germs. A squirt of hand sanitizer every time a kid comes and goes from a room, esp on the way to lunch! If you need some, let us know!"
Response: We will definitely work on this. We ALWAYS need tissues and hand sanitizer if anyone would like to donate
"Please put an orange cone to stop the cars that line up in the morning from coming all the way down to the stop sign. They make it impossible for the cars coming to drop children at Enrichment to make a left turn. They need to be considerate of other cars. "
Response: We will try to do better with this. I am emailing our operations manager now so that we can make this a practice
"Designated days/times where family can come and observe their child in class (This is something I distinctly remember from my Kindergarten experience almost 30 years ago lol.) This may be something the younger kids enjoy more than the older ones."
Response: National Education Week is in February and that is the time that all schools typically open their doors for parents to come in freely (after being checked in and all appropriate safety measures are taken). Before then you can make an appointment at any time to come in and observe a class.
