Blevins Bulletin

September 13th 2024 Principal's Message
Hello Blevins Families,
Happy Friday the 13th! We've wrapped up another focused and fun week at Blevins. I'm excited to share that Bruin Club will be starting on Monday. For those who don't know yet, Bruin Club is our after-school program that runs Monday-Thursday, 2:30-5pm. We have many different club offerings each day and we can also provide bus transportation home. See the bulletin below for more info! I'm particularly proud of the supports and connections that Bruin Club has built for our students.
Save the date for our 1st Annual Bruin Bash on Friday, Oct. 4th, 4:30-6:30pm. This event is a celebration of past, present, and future Blevins Bruins. We will have fun activities, give-away items, and food. It also serves as our PTO fundraiser with funds going directly to our students and staff to support their learning, engagement, and school culture. I can't wait to see you and your family there!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Proudly,
Joe Zappa, Principal

Important October Count Information
October Count is coming on OCTOBER 1st!
(PSD's count window is Sept. 24- Oct 8.)
What is October Count? It is simply making your student count in our education system. Per the Colorado Department of Education:
“The Student October Pupil Enrollment collection contains student enrollment information as of the pupil enrollment count date. This information is used to determine the school demographics, number of students in instructional programs, free and reduced lunch counts, and distribution of school finances across the state.”
Its very important to have your student in school during this time so your student and Blevins are accurately represented. If you have any questions or concerns, please call Melisa Zaug in the front office at 970-488-4044.

“8th graders, do you want to travel? There are a few spots remaining on the Boston and New York trip. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime trip! If 5 more students enroll, Mr. Bourland gets to join us! All that is due upon registration is the $95 enrollment deposit. If you need support with the cost, there are opportunities provided through EF to help make it more affordable, but these are only accessible once your student is registered.
You can enroll for the trip and save your spot here: www.efexploreamerica.com/2794420AY
