Principal's Message
Dear ORCA Families,
Thank you for your continued support, which is invaluable and helps our school thrive.
We kindly remind you of the importance of consistent attendance. Regular school attendance not only helps your child stay on track academically but also fosters social connections and builds positive routines that contribute to their overall success. Please try to schedule any appointments outside of school hours, and report any absences promptly to the school office.
Report cards will be sent home this Friday, November 15th, providing an update on your child’s progress.
Thank you once again for your support and dedication to your child's education.

Dismissal in Front of our School
Dear Parents,
To ensure a smooth and safe drop-off and pick-up experience for all, we kindly ask you to follow these protocols:
- Parking: If you are waiting to pick up your child, please park your car. This helps maintain the flow of traffic and avoids congestion.
- No Blocking: Please do not block the handicap parking spaces or stand on the driveway, as these areas need to remain accessible at all times.
- Pick-Up Location: Wait for your child on the sidewalk by the main gate.
Thank you for your cooperation and helping us create a safe and efficient environment for everyone.
Dismissal on Waudman Avenue
As we continue into the second quarter, we want to emphasize the importance of safety for all our students. We’ve observed some students crossing Waudman Avenue outside of designated crosswalks while rushing to their vehicles.
Ensuring the safety of your child remains our top priority. We kindly ask you to encourage your child to use the crosswalks and avoid jaywalking, as it significantly reduces safety risks.
Thank you for your cooperation in creating a safer school environment.
Everyday Counts Attendance
Regular attendance is key to your child's academic success! Every school day provides important lessons and activities that build on their knowledge and skills. When your child misses school, they miss out on critical learning experiences that help them stay on track.
Let's work together to ensure your child gets the most out of every school day. Thank you for your ongoing support in their education!

Dear Parents,
This month’s Counseling Newsletter is dedicated to the important topic of Grieving a Loved One and How to Cope with Grief. We understand that the loss of a loved one can have a profound impact on children, and knowing how to provide support is essential.
In this issue, we cover:
- The process of grief and the stages children may experience.
- Strategies for coping with grief to help families find strength and healing.
- Information on grief counseling support available through our school and community resources.
We’ve also included the Villa Monterey Family Newsletter, which provides additional local resources and support options for families in need. Please take a few moments to review the newsletter and flyer, as these resources can be instrumental in guiding your family through difficult times.
