Thankful Thursday Notes
We know that the surest way to have the good things in life is to be thankful for what we already have in our lives. During the month of November, we will be focusing on Gratitude. Please take a few minutes to fill out the attached Thankful Thursday note to someone on the LCE faculty or staff. You can send it to Robyn DuBose King and she will make sure the person receives your message. Thank you.
Please send your message to Robyn DuBose King at Robyn.DuboseKing@fortbendisd.gov by Thursday at 10:00 a.m. throughout the month of November (November 7th, 14th & 21st).

Honoring our Veterans
To honor our past and current service men and women on Veteran’s Day, Lexington Creek is inviting students to make a poster or create a PowerPoint slide honoring family members that have in the past or are currently serving in the United States armed forces. The posters will be displayed on a Wall of Honor through the end of November and the PowerPoint slides will be turned into a video for viewing. If your child brought a poster last year and it was not returned, it has been stored at LCE and will be placed on the wall again this year. In order to easily display all the posters, please follow these guidelines:
- Posters need to be made at home.
- Paper should not be thicker than standard poster board and not exceed 22 x 28 inches
- Include service person’s name, rank, branch of military and place(s) served
- Put your name, grade, and teacher’s name on the back
- Pictures, maps, and other interesting visuals may be included, but do not use any items of value such as medals or original photographs.
- Bring posters to school by Tuesday, November 5th.
- PowerPoint slides need to be sent to MicheleCroft@fortbendisd.gov by November 6th. Please put Veterans PP in the subject line.
- Be creative!
Participation is optional and the posters and PowerPoint slides will not be graded. We look forward to this opportunity to honor the sacrifices made by the brave military men and women in the families of Lexington Creek Elementary!
Thank you for your support!

Nurse's Corner
With both flu and COVID-19 circulating this season, getting the flu and COVID vaccines are more important than ever. Learn more about what you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones on the CDC website:
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/index.html
https://www.cdc.gov/covid/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html
- You can help us maintain a healthy school environment by following the Fort Bend ISD guidelines for controlling communicable diseases at school.
- While it is very important for your child to be in class, please keep your child at home if he/she is exhibiting signs or symptoms of illness such as, fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose, muscle aches, fatigue, headaches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and decreased sense of taste or smell.
- Help us protect other students by not sending your child back to school while he/she is still experiencing symptoms. If your child is sick and attending school, he/she may be spreading symptoms to others. It is also very difficult for a sick child to concentrate on learning.
- Students with a fever of 100.0 or higher, experiencing diarrhea or vomiting, and/or undetermined rash will be sent home. Procedures and protocol of when student can return to school will be given to parents at that time.
- One of the most important things you can do is to remind your child of healthy hygiene practices. Remind your student to practice good hand washing at all times and to avoid drinking from bottles, cans, or glasses after other people.
Please notify the clinic of illness your child has and any diagnosis given by the doctor if visited. This will help to keep the school aware of illnesses in classrooms.
