Counselor Leadership Newsletter
October 2024

October is Fentanyl Poisoning Awareness month. The 88th Texas Legislature passed fentanyl-related legislation to raise awareness of fentanyl poisonings and promote prevention efforts. Did you know that fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid, is similar to morphine but is 50 - 100 times more potent? USA Facts reported, "In 2022, fentanyl was responsible for 200 deaths every day. Over a quarter of a million Americans have died from a fentanyl overdose since 2018." Let's do our part and spread awareness and prevention methods with Governor Abbotts "One Pill Kills" campaign. (Be sure to view campaign graphics here.)
Thank you for all that you do!
