*ANNOUNCEMENTS*
LIMBO Meeting
There will be a LIMBO meeting today, November 19 at 7:00 p.m. in the instrumental music room (401). All band, choir, orchestra, and color guard students and parents/guardians are encouraged to attend!
ESP Day
Wednesday, November 20 is National Education Support Professionals (ESP) Day. We would like to send a great big THANK YOU to all of our ESPs that help our students and our school on a daily basis. ESPs include security monitors, custodial staff, instructional aides, secretaries, classroom and office assistants, and maintenance workers. Often considered "behind the scenes," our ESPs are our secret superheroes; they keep the school running and the wheels moving. These individuals play a huge role in the lives of our students both in and out of the classroom, ensuring they are safe, healthy, and supported so that they can learn and reach their full potential. Each day we witness first-hand the impact that these dedicated professionals have on every student who crosses their path, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for everything that you do, and everything that you are!
Teacher Conferences
Fall Teacher Conferences will be held on November 25 and 26 (both are early dismissal days for students). If you were unable to schedule through the Genesis portal (now closed), you can reach out to your child's teachers directly by email to see if they still have any open time slots. Click here to see a list of teacher room numbers for conferences.

Thanksgiving Break
A little bit of rest is right around the corner! While you're enjoying "all the fixins" next week, remember to think about the people and things that you're most grateful for in your life. Find the bright spots, blessings, and beauty around you and give thanks for those that bring you joy. Remember, there is always something to be thankful for. Have a wonderful break and a special holiday with those who make your heart the most happy.

Senior Class Parent Info Night Recap
If you were not able to attend our Senior Parent Info Night last week, linked below are the slideshows that were shared at the event!
Peer Tutoring
The National Honor Society peer tutoring program will be starting up again on Wednesday, November 6. For those of you not familiar with the program, here is a quick overview:
Cardinal Nest Peer Tutoring is held every Wednesday during Resources 1 and 2.
The program meets in the library conference room (or the library well, as needed).
NHS tutors provide tutoring in all major content areas (for free).
We are often able to provide language support/tutoring for ESL students (this varies depending on the languages our NHS members speak). If you are interested in this aspect of the program, please reach out to Ms. Haughey so that she can help coordinate.
Students must have a SmartPass from their content area teacher to attend.
Career Day Speakers Needed
The LHS Sophomore Academy and Guidance Department are still in need of speakers for the annual Career Day program on January 7, 2025 at Rider University. The goal of the program is to provide our sophomores with an opportunity to experience a wide range of career options. If you are interested in participating or would like to recommend someone, please email Melissa Brunner at mbrunner@ltps.org.

BSU Helps Fight Childhood Hunger
The Black Student Union (BSU) has partnered with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Upsilon Omega chapter, for the past three years to support their Childhood Hunger Initiative. Each year, the sorority provides over 400 students at Village Charter School in Trenton, NJ, with food bags before Thanksgiving. This year, BSU organized donations of fruit snack packets and pudding cups. Thanks to the generous support of the LHS community, BSU exceeded its goal, collecting 1,498 fruit snack packets and 450 pudding cups.
Take a Bow
Hats off to all of the cast and crew of this year's fall show, CLUE (Directed by Mrs. Baldwin). The show ran on November 14, 15, and 16. Audience members were treated to a laugh-until-your-sides-hurt production filled with mystery and mayhem! We are so proud of all of you for your dedication and hard work. See the photo below (courtesy of Bennie Williams).
Congrats, Fall Student-Athletes
Our fall student-athletes just wrapped up a great season. Whether it was on the field, the turf, or the courts, we are proud of your hard work and determination, and for the way you represented your school and community in the process! Blankets can be knitted, crocheted, tie-blankets, etc. (100% cotton, flannel, single-ply polar fleece, or acrylic yarn…please no wool). Click here to view the flyer for more information, or contact kroche@ltps.org with any questions. Students who make blankets can also earn volunteer hours for their time.
