Please note: The schedule at Biglerville High School will be altered on Thursday, May 19th. Only students taking the Algebra Keystone Exam and the Literature Keystone Exam are to report to school.
All other students will be working remotely from home on May 19th. Seniors will be on the senior class trip and those who are not going, should not report to school.
This change in the schedule only impacts the high school.
ACADEMICS
English Department
It has become part of the English department's daily routine to read horoscopes between homeroom and first period. Students from Mrs. Granger's junior class and Ms. McDannell's senior class are regular attendees, eager to hear Ms. Meeson recite the day's prognostications. This may not be the most educational thing in which the English department participates, but it sure is fun! School isn't just about academics--it's also about building relationships.

GUIDANCE
From Your School Counselors:
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and it is a time to raise awareness of those living with mental or behavioral health issues and to help reduce the stigma so many people experience. Each week your school counselors will be hosting workshops centered around helping students improve their own mental health. In addition, we will be wearing green on Mondays, the color associated with Mental Health Awareness. See the attached flyer for more information.

FRIDAY SHOUT-OUTS!
There are lots of positive things happening at BHS! Each week, the faculty and staff at BHS nominate students and other staff members to receive a shout-out for doing good things that make BHS a great place!
4/25 - 4/29 Shoutouts:
- To Ricardo Acevedo and Carlie Corson for going all-in on our Poetry Cafe. They both dressed up, wrote beautiful poetry, and provided delicious baked goods for our class to enjoy. Their consistent effort and enthusiasm help to make the class great :)
- Mrs. Fritz would like to give a big shoutout to her HU Calculus class - Joana Buitimea, Zach Cool, Alex Cook, Nancy Linares, Luke Meyer, Jackie Miller, Alyssa Smith, and Ryan VanDyke - for celebrating her birthday last week. Thank you very much!
- Jen Peglow for helping everyone celebrate Earth Day with our very own trees
- Gina Pecher for sharing her expertise and offering guidance so that a student could reach their full potential!
- Kudos to Emily Woolson for being a good teammate and showing responsibility after softball practice!
- A well-deserved shoutout to the often unsung heroes who keep our offices running efficiently—secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists, and other administrative support professionals. HAPPY ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONAL DAY!
Lots of great things are happening here at BHS! Have a great weekend everyone!
