Aviation Program Visits DFW International Airport
Mr. Foster recently took a group of aviation students on an exciting field trip to DFW Airport. During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore training programs, learn about mechanical and operating systems, and gain valuable insights into the aviation industry. What an incredible experience for these future aviators!
Parker Co Chamber of Commerce
AHS proudly hosted the Parker County Chamber of Commerce, offering a glimpse into the exceptional opportunities AISD provides for our students.
Chamber members had the chance to tour the campus and observe students actively engaged in health science, aviation, and agriculture classes. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the innovative and diverse educational experiences available at Aledo ISD!
School Board Appreciation
Each January, we take time to honor the dedicated individuals who are truly #AllInAledo, serving our community as volunteers—the Aledo ISD Board of Trustees!
Our board members play a vital role in overseeing the district's operations, ensuring that every student has exceptional learning experiences each day. Their leadership, vision, and commitment are instrumental in #GrowingGreatness across Aledo ISD.
School Board Recognition Month is the perfect opportunity to express our gratitude for their hard work, guidance, and unwavering dedication to the success of our students and staff. Thank you, Trustees, for all you do to make Aledo ISD a place where greatness thrives!
Fine Arts
AHS Theatre
Aledo High School Theatre proudly presented Grease! This unforgettable production showcased our incredibly talented students as they brought timeless hits and a heartwarming story to life. A huge congratulations to Mr. Chappell and the entire cast for delivering yet another outstanding performance. Bravo, Bearcats!
Choir
Kaitlin Brummer has achieved an extraordinary milestone by not only making the top All-State Choir but also dominating the competition, earning 1st place in the Soprano 2 section! With eight areas combined in the state audition process, Kaitlin is officially one of the top eight Soprano 2 singers in all of Texas.
In February, she will travel to San Antonio to rehearse and perform with the prestigious Texas All-State Mixed Choir, the highest-performing choir at TMEA.
This marks Kaitlin's second year earning a spot in an All-State Choir and her first year being selected for the elite Mixed Choir. Additionally, she will represent Aledo at the American Choral Directors Association National Convention in March as part of this honor.
Congratulations, Kaitlin, on your incredible talent and dedication. We are so proud of you!
Band
Congratulations to Aledo's Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Members—Josh Denton, Harper Jones, Jackson Sirois, and Jude McDonald!
These talented individuals performed selected pieces for a panel of judges who ranked each instrument or voice part. Earning a spot in a TMEA All-State ensemble is an incredible accomplishment, as only about 2.6% of high school musicians who audition are selected.
A special shoutout to Harper Jones and Jude McDonald for earning first chair in their respective TMEA All-State ensembles—an extraordinary achievement!
We are so proud of your hard work and dedication. Way to go, Bearcats!
Aledo Education Foundation
A big shoutout to the Aledo Education Foundation for hosting the exciting Shoot for Scholarships competition.
Attendance Matters
Research consistently demonstrates a strong link between student attendance and academic success. Students who attend school consistently are more likely to perform well academically and achieve higher grades.
We're excited to share that our attendance rates have improved compared to last year!
- AHS is currently at 96.27%, and
- DNG is at 97% cumulative attendance for the first semester.
Our goal is 98%, and we're making great progress toward achieving it!
Exam exemptions serve as a fantastic incentive for students with outstanding attendance. As we begin the second semester, it’s a great time to remind students to work toward earning these exemptions.
Exemptions are awarded based on exemplary attendance, grades, and behavior. This initiative encourages students to uphold high standards in all areas, emphasizing the value of consistent attendance and academic excellence.

Course Selection for 25/26
Hi parents!
Here are a couple of infographics to help you with course selection information for the 25-26 school year. The Academic Planning Guide will be your best resource for all things course selection. You can access it here: https://www.aledoisd.org/departments/counseling-services/academic-planning-guides
We also have a course selection website that will help answer any question you might have. You can access that here: https://sites.google.com/.../ahsdng-course-selection/home...
Counselors will be meeting with students individually on the dates shared here. Counselors are available for current AHS students during FLEX to answer questions as well. If parents have questions, they can reach out to ahscounselors@aledoisd.org. While we can’t set up individual meetings with all parents in addition to the meetings with your students, we will do our very best to get your questions answered so you can best support your student in choosing their courses!
We embrace our culture of Growing Greatness and this is shown through positive interactions and exceptional service to our students, peers, parents and community of Aledo ISD. We want to recognize those who go above and beyond in their service to others with our Circle of Greatness Award.
Tell us about your experience with an Aledo ISD team member who is Growing Greatness!!
As a reminder, we have streamlined absence reporting for all of our campuses for this school year. It is very important that we have documented reasons for absences so that we can ensure your student is given an excused absence when needed.
Please use this form to report your student's absence and upload any documentation. Allow 48 hours for information to be updated in the Ascender system, which will reflect in the Ascender ParentPortal attendance tab. Complete this form for EVERY day that your student is absent.
