Dear Morris Families,
We hope you all had a wonderful February break and found time to relax and recharge. As we return to school, we’re looking forward to longer days, warmer weather, and a strong finish to the school year.
Exciting News! Morris Elementary Wins the 2024 Exemplary Reading Program Award!
I am thrilled to share that Morris Elementary has been selected as the recipient of the 2024 Exemplary Reading Program Award! This prestigious honor recognizes excellence in literacy programming across Massachusetts and is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and commitment of our incredible educators in fostering a love of reading in our students.
Amanda and I were so proud to share all that makes literacy a priority at Morris. A special thank you to Amanda for nominating us! When the Massachusetts Reading Association committee members visited, they were amazed by the rich literacy experiences happening in our classrooms and especially impressed by our students’ enthusiasm for reading and writing.
This recognition reflects the passion, hard work, and dedication of our entire school community. Our teachers, staff, students, and families. Thank you for your ongoing support in making Morris a place where literacy thrives!
To help students transition back into their routines, we will be reviewing our school-wide ROAR expectations:
🔹 Rise to the challenge
🔹 Own your actions
🔹 Always work together
🔹 Respect yourself and others
Returning from a break is the perfect time to revisit these expectations and reinforce the positive behaviors that make Morris Elementary such a great place to learn and grow. By reviewing our shared values, we create consistency, ensure students feel supported, and set the stage for a successful remainder of the year.
Information sessions about the LMMHS Building Project.
Parents are invited to attend an Information Session about the LMMHS Building Project. These sessions will provide an opportunity to learn more about the project, including the process, finances, and timelines. Each session will also include a brief tour and time for questions.
The sessions will be held on the following dates in the LMMHS Library:
- Thursday, February 27 at 6:00 PM
- Wednesday, March 26 at 6:00 PM
- Monday, April 28 at 6:00 PM
We hope to see you there!
Help Us Find a Great Addition to Our Morris Team!
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Morris Elementary team! We are currently looking for a Kindergarten Instructional Paraprofessional to support our youngest learners. If you or someone you know is passionate about working with children and would be a great fit for this role, we encourage you to apply or share this opportunity.
This position involves working closely with the classroom teacher, providing academic and social-emotional support to students, and helping to create a positive learning environment.
Thank you for helping us spread the word!
