Deal will continue to offer an in-person, Summer Math Acceleration Camp (SMAC) and an Online Asynchronous Math Course (Zearn) for our current 6th and 7th graders during July of 2025 (July 7 - July 31; 8:45 am - 12:00 noon).

SMAC Math 7

This intensive course is for 6th graders currently taking Math 6 who become eligible based on the iReady MOY and EOY Assessment. Students who successfully complete this in-person course and the final assessment will be placed in Math 8 in the Fall of the 2025 - 2026 school year.

Zearn 7

This online asynchronous course is for 6th graders currently taking Math 6. Only students who qualify based on their MOY i-Ready score will become eligible. Students who successfully complete the course and the final assessment will be placed in Math 8 in the Fall of the 2025 - 2026 school year

SMAC Math 8

This intensive course is for 6th & 7th graders currently taking Math 7 who become eligible based on the MOY and EOY iReady Assessment. Students who successfully complete this in-person course and the final assessment will be placed in Algebra I in the Fall of the 2025 - 2026 school year.

Zearn 8

This online asynchronous course is for 6th or 7th graders currently taking Math 7. Only students who qualify based on their MOY i-Ready score are eligible. Students who successfully complete the course and the final assessment will be placed in Algebra I in the Fall of the 2025 - 2026 school year.

Do you need extra help with Math? Eight graders will offer Math tutoring sessions after school. More information to come!

• Work from the first half of the Term is due by the midpoint.
• Work from the second half of the Term is due the last day of the Term.
• The grade for late assignment submitted following an unexcused absence will be reduced by one (1) letter grade.

Term 2:

• First half late/make-up work is due December 9, 2024.
• Second half late/make-up work is due January 24, 2024.

• Assignments with a grade of D+ (69%) or lower may be retaken ONE TIME only.
• The retake must happen before the late/make-up work deadline.
• The highest grade possible on the retake is a C (76%).
• RCTs are an exception: all may be retaken for full credit.

Hey Team Bridgetown Families! This week in Math 6, students will prepare for the RCT #4: Unit 5: Arithmetic in Base 10. Students will practice all operations with decimals. Please work with your child to ensure they are ready for the RCT. In Math 7, students will take the RCT #4 for Unit 4: Proportional Relationships & Percentages. We have had two review/practice days to be prepared for the assessment. Please bring devices charged and ready to go!

Grading Expectations for Late Assignments:

Assignments that are submitted late (after the due date) will be graded after all assignments that are submitted on time. While assignments are updated daily/weekly, late assignments are not required to be updated until the end of the Term. To ensure accuracy of grading in Aspen, all assignments should be submitted on time.

Greetings and Happy New Year Team Bridgetown! This week we will be doing the Quill diagnostic. Quill is an online platform that we will be integrating into classes in the new year. It is designed to help students improve their writing and grammar skills through interactive exercises with instant feedback. Students will be responsible for completing 10 Quill lessons by Thursday January 24. They can be completed at whatever pace the student would like. Then we will be writing a compare and contrast essay about the “Tuck Everlasting” book and the movie.

Book Projects: Students should be ready to turn in their book projects on Monday January 6 during class. All projects should be emailed to the student or put in their One Drive for submission. Please note that if there is a snow day, students will submit their projects on the day we return.

Hi Team Bridgetown,

This week, students will be working on their Term 2 Roots Summative. Please note this summative will count toward Term 3, allowing time for appropriate make-ups and retakes.

To help students prepare, they will complete a study guide that is due on January 7th. Paper copies have been provided, and there’s also a digital submission option available on Canvas under the “Week of January 2-3” module.

For extra practice, students can access a fun Blooket review game through the same module on Canvas. Additionally, students will be completing MAP Testing next week and it will be graded based on completion. Lastly, a reminder that students have a slideshow presentation on planets due on January 6.

This week we explore our Unit 4: South and Southeast Asia (SSEA) by making political and physical maps and building vocabulary about the physical geography of the region. Early in the week the study list & review links will be posted for students to study key countries, physical features, and vocabulary at home. ..

The library orientations have completed for all students! Most students have now checked out at least one book from the library! 6th grade students should be almost ready to return their books if they haven't already. Notices will go out next week for 6th students who have overdue materials and over the following two weeks for 7th and 8th graders.

Students are able to see their current loans by accessing their library accounts through the Clever app called "Destiny Discover". They can follow the process below to see items that they have checked out:

1. Log into Clever (clever.com/in/dcpsk12)

2. Search "Destiny Discover" or navigate to the Library Resources section and click on the icon.

3. Click on the "My Stuff" link at the top of the screen to see any items that are checked out.

4. Students who have lost materials or see items that may be linked to their account by mistake should speak with Mr. Reichlen.

There are no fines or penalties for lost materials. Donations of hard cover titles of middle school-age-appropriate works in good condition are always accepted if families are able to replace lost materials.

Library Hours 8:15am-3:45pm daily.

•With permission from grade level admin – Students can come from 8:15 – 8:35am

(Mr. Reichlen must be present).

•Recess visits – You must get a pass from Mr. Reichlen or Ms. Gathers.

•No pass, no entry.
