Coming Soon - Farm To You
We’re thrilled to announce that on November 11th, our PTO has arranged an exciting visit from the Farm To You program! This unique, hands-on experience brings a mini farmyard directly to our school, complete with live animals like baby chicks, ducks, turkeys, rabbits, sheep, goats, and even a pig—all safely enclosed in handmade wooden pens.
This incredible program allows our students to engage up close with farm animals, offering a chance to touch, see, and hear the joys of farm life. It’s an unforgettable learning adventure that connects kids with the natural world and provides valuable, hands-on educational experiences.
The Farm To You team will provide hand-washing stations and friendly guides to ensure a safe and engaging experience for all. We’re looking forward to seeing the students explore and learn from this memorable event, rain or shine!
Staff Spotlight - Alivia Hysell
This month, we’re thrilled to feature Alivia Hysell in our Staff Spotlight! Alivia has been an essential part of the Burbank community for the past seven months. Originally joining us through a practicum placement during her Early Childhood Education program, Alivia quickly fell in love with our program and decided to become a member of our team.
Alivia works in the Young Preschool Classroom, where she cherishes the chance to get to know each student, appreciating their unique personalities and individual interests. She is a strong advocate for our play-based learning model and loves the nature-inspired opportunities Burbank offers, from our dynamic outdoor spaces to engaging, hands-on experiences.
Alivia's passion for the natural world extends beyond Burbank, as she also volunteers at the Franklin Park Conservatory, fostering her dedication to helping students build meaningful connections with nature.
Thank you, Alivia, for the warmth, enthusiasm, and curiosity you bring to our young learners every day—you’re a cherished part of our team!
UA 'Track for Treats’ Program
For families planning to celebrate, Upper Arlington’s Beggars Night is set for Thursday, October 31, from 6-8 pm. This year, the city introduces Track for Treats, an optional program designed to make Beggars Night easier and more fun for those participating.
Through Track for Treats, participating homeowners can register their address if they’ll be handing out candy or have Halloween decorations. Families can then use an interactive map to help plan a safe and enjoyable route, complete with stops at the spookiest or most festive spots.
For those observing Halloween, this tool provides a fun, guided way to navigate the evening.
Support Our PTO Bake Sale Fundraiser!
We are excited to announce that our Burbank staff and PTO will be partnering for a bake sale on Tuesday, November 5th to raise funds for more exciting experiences for our students! Since Burbank is a registered polling site, we will host the bake sale in our main lobby, giving voters the opportunity to choose from a variety of baked goods in exchange for a donation.
We are reaching out for volunteers to help provide baked goods for this event. If you’re interested in supporting our school, please drop off any baked items on or before November 5th. Your contributions will help make this fundraiser a success!
If you have any questions, feel free to contact our main office. Thank you for supporting Burbank and our PTO!
