The Silverhawks' Nest
"Soaring to Success"
March Edition
Silverhawk Families,
Happy March!
The end of the school year is quickly approaching, but before then we will continue to work hard on teaching our students the curriculum that they need to learn to "show what they know" on our AASA state testing. Please make sure that your child is at school as much as possible so he/she doesn't miss out on important learning.
We are continuing to welcome new students to our campus this year, and Open Enroll students for next school year. If you know anyone who is looking for a great school please send them our way. We are looking for students in every grade level, but especially, Kindergarten/2nd/4th and 5th grades. We want to make sure that we have 2 teachers per grade level to keep our classroom sizes low.
March events are listed below for your convenience.
- March 3rd-7th - Read Across America Week
- March 6th - Kindergarten Round Up (4:30-5:30)
- March 7th - Literacy Nite (4:30-6:00)

- March 17th - 21st - Spring Break - No School

As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to email me at christine.fitzsimmons@dvusd.org or you can catch me in the front parking lot at drop-off and pick-up.
Have a great March!!
Sincerely,

The Traditional Academy at Bellair Preschool Updates
In February we had fun finishing our study of seeds. We shared what we learned at our school science fair, grew our own plants, and made seed paper to grow wildflowers! Our students made Valentine’s Day crafts and cards for each other. We are really looking forward to learning about the life cycles of bugs but not before we get to celebrate Read Across America week! We have two full weeks of stories and crafts planned, so stay tuned for our next update!
